It is what it is
Didn't Cam Smith look great in the preseason and practices with other teams? Or am I remembering that wrong...
He had one pass break up in the endzone and then got hurt, I wouldn't categorize that as great.

That might be true in terms of relationships within the organization.Weaver can do no worse .
Your heading down a rabbit hole, I don't think I wanna follow.
Mitchell had a higher grade for me than Chop, I'll be honest.
Greir was up against it, like you said we needed edge rushers but let's not forget the multiple wasted draft picks used on Noah and Cam Smith. Corner was probably the one postion Grier didn't want to use another high pick on. I could be wrong but my guess, is that he's hoping Cam Smith will take a big step forward.
So in closing, Grier did "Draft for need" but Chop isn't a bad pick. I had him at around the 25th best player due to just how freakishly athletic he is. Before the draft he reminded me of a mini Aaron Daronld, like a short stocky quick little ****.
That might be true in terms of relationships within the organization.
Statistically, however, he absolutely can do worse.
Let's keep some rational perspective here.
This is true, you can talk bad about Fangio, but statistically our defense last year was not awful. That might be true in terms of relationships within the organization.

If I didn't write hypronoloic posts I'd make like 5 posts a yearIt's nice to read such an insightful post that is also very "even keeled" and doesn't rely on hyperbole to make its case.
"Palmplant" right here. - LOLIf I didn't write hypronoloic posts I'd make like 5 posts a year
During the season, I remember seeing him during the blowout games and thought he looked the part. He was with the wr and don’t ever believe he gave up any plays. He had one pass break up in the endzone and then got hurt, I wouldn't categorize that as great.
my general rule of thumb is the simplest answer is often best. ergo they didn't think he was any good. for him not to get on the field over ethan bonner speaks volumes. i think the cam smith issue was more than just "fangio didn't want the young kid to play." sort of like iggy. left here, went to dallas, also couldn't make it there. the dallas 2nd rounder that failed with them that they gave us for iggy, same issues here. some guys just don't cut it. i am worried that cam smith falls into that bucket. we shall see i guess. the problem is if cam smith is no good, we are still thin at the CB position.During the season, I remember seeing him during the blowout games and thought he looked the part. I remember thinking he looked fluid and fast. Strange he was never given a solid chance.

Just my opinion whether rational or not.. just a fanThat might be true in terms of relationships within the organization.

Well, OK. To each their own.Just my opinion whether rational or not.. just a fan
That's cool have a good oneWell, OK. To each their own.
Everyone is different. I prefer my opinions have a rational basis. That's just how I roll.
