Readdressing Miami Dolphins QB Ryan Tannehill’s main criticisms

Bottom half on 3rd down efficiency is not all on Tannehill but it has to improve. I've often felt that if we didn't get a first down on 2nd down, we were coming off the field and stats show that is the case 63% of the time. I'd love to have at least a 30 min TOP this season. It would show that Gase's offense is going in the direction he planned.

Sacked Percentage measures the rate of quarterback sacks a team suffers for every pass attempt. This statistic gives some indication to the quality of the offensive line and their ability to protect against the pass rush. The lower the percentage the better.

It's calculated as: Quarterback Sacks/(Quarterback Sacks + Passing Attempts)

This site has Miami tied with Detroit at 5.9%

One thing to keep in mind, 16 of Miami's 30 sacks came in the first five weeks of the season.

The man needs to use his legs like that fellow in Seattle- Wilson. It's harder to sack a moving target. Move Ryan. Don't stand in the pocket too long. Run.

Harder... maybe. But not impossible. Tannehill sacked 213 times in 5 seasons, Wilson a very close 205. Slightly over a 1.5 sack per season difference. Wilson makes a ton of plays on the move, but he still gets sacked a lot. I noticed Wilson's first season without Lynch running the ball resulted in a 4,200 yard 21 td's and 11 int's season, very Tannehill like numbers.

In Gase' second season I think he'll drill down on things like the concept of team football, mistakes, penalties, off the field actions, basically all the little things that must be done to win football games. We have to come out of the gate ready to play a very high level of football because the schedule is a monster. That's fine because if were the team we're supposed to be we'll beat up on plenty of good teams. On offense, in year two, the precision which with we'll execute the Gase offense should be up a notch, hopefully, a good size notch. I think Tannehill will go to the Pro Bowl this season. He has targets all over the field, an improved oline and Ajayi to pound the rock. Tannehill is actually the perfect QB for this offense and I think you'll see some proof of that early on this season. Julius Thomas is heaven sent and we're going to see what it's like to have a great TE featured in your offense, especially in the red zone. Fasano can hold on to the ball, he's also a lethal blocker. The Miami newspapers have run some articles recently about DeVante Parker who is doing everything right for the first time since being drafted, Tannehill and Parker had something good going last season, bring on more! I'm hopeful we see the oline really fire out when needed and pass protect when needed. Tunsil will be a force at LT, Asiata should win the battle for LG, Pouncey in the middle, (cross fingers) Bushrod at RG and James at RT. This should be an excellent group and Fasano is another excellent blocker to add to the equation. This unit looks quite good on paper but it's going to take precision to step up to the next level.

People forget how much the talent around the QB matters.
