Dolphins may cut Leonte Carroo a year after trading up for him

Gase has already said they want to simplify Carroos role as Parkers backup. If there's problems with him in that role, then move him. I've seen nothing from him, other than the TD vs SF last yr.

Ya wait for the pads. If I remember correctly OJ McDuffie our leading receiver stat wise caught squat his rookie year except punts then went on to have a great career. These players are not instant oatmill you need to give em type to develop.

No sense crying over spilled milk. Either Caroo works out or he doesn't. What's the big deal?

While I absolutely despise what we gave up to get him and don't really understand the line of thinking in giving it all up for a position of strength, I did like the player coming out of college. I'm not going to root against him just because T-bum is a moron.

Carroo is making this team like it or not. Too heavy of an investment, and he's a hard worker with quite a bit of potential. Don't blame the guy because we made the stupid move of giving up so many picks to draft him. I don't think the FO expected Kenny Stills to produce at the level he did last season.

Grant is the guy who should be gone. I hope Drake does well as a punt returner now that he's getting reps there, because he's a far better kick returner and actually offers something on offense.

Juice, DVP, Stills, Carroo, Ford, and either Morgan or Scott.

This seems right. Carroo and Ford are too good - both starting talents, with Carroo having a higher ceiling. I'm looking for 400-500 yards from Carroo in 2017, with 4 to 5 TD's. The biggest obstacle will be finding opportunities (Landry, Parker, Stills, and Thomas), but this is a good problem for Gase and Tannehill. This is the deepest that Miami has been at WR since I've been following the team. And, for this reason, I think it's unlikely that Miami will break the bank to keep Landry in 2018.

Miami has not drafted well at every position in recent years, but they've shown the ability to find value at WR. I would rather see 14M spent on an OG and a defensive player than see it go to a good player at a position where Miami is strong. I love Landry, but when resources are limited, as they are for every team, you have to be aware of your strengths and weaknesses. I know that someone will say that neither Ford nor Carroo have accomplished anything in the NFL, but their college careers indicate that it's more a matter of when than if. Fun fact: Landry, Carroo, and Ford all had better college production (using market share) than top-10 pick Mike Williams.

Such a wreckless article...it's title suggest they are considering it as we speak...false.

Let me give you a few others...Dolphin "may" release Maxwell, Mike Pouncey, and Cameron Wake.

Obviously all of the above players will have to prove they are healthy and can get the job done to remain Miami Dolphins in the future...Just like Leonte Caroo.

Stupid!

I remember Caroo having that one big play against the 49ers. Don't think he got a lot of reps/opportunity. He was buried in the depth chart. That's what happens when you draft positions you don't need.

Drives me nuts that we have these big gaping holes along the interior OL and then we draft a number 4 WR and use premium picks to trade up. That was amateur hour.

He does seem like a good prospect, but he still probably won't play much unless somebody gets hurt.

The "big Deal" are the picks given up for Carroo. Those picks are a McGuffin for messageboard GM's. They are a fantasy in which they dream that there is some power they have to turn those opportunities into diamonds.... and their opponent (the team GM/Coach) is beaten by their imaginary potential.

Except it's true that with more picks actual GMs have a better chance at finding talent that will help the team. If you're saying it's too early to tell whether we got value in Carroo for the extra we paid, I agree with you. But let's not pretend that trading away picks for bench-riding players is a Good Thing for the team we love.

I understand brother

Exactly, you get it. There's an incredible bias against this guy simply because the FO wanted him badly enough to trade up. A lot of receivers take a good year or two to adjust to the NFL. Some posters have such a vendetta against him it's shameful. Regardless of whether he ends up being a good football player are not he's still a person. I'm rooting on this guy so much just so I can stick it to those certain individuals. Believe you me o_O

The real story here is he doesn't play a position of "need" for Miami right now. They're stacked with 3 legit starting WR's. The only story is how much they invested in him, which I honestly don't think they'd have done if they knew Stills would break out last year like he did. If Carroo was a LB, he would have probably played 80% of snaps last year (a position of need at the time)- but he isn't ... This will eventually become a write-off situation and nobody will remember his name in 4 years. What's done is done, move on.
