The Dolphins are counting on Laremy Tunsil setting a foundation at left tackle for years. Doug Murray/Icon Sportswire

DAVIE, Fla. -- Aside from quarterback Ryan Tannehill, perhaps no player is more important to the success of the Miami Dolphins’ offense this season than former first-round pick Laremy Tunsil.

The offensive lineman will move from left guard to left tackle this year to protect the blind side of Tannehill, who is coming off a sprained ACL and MCL. If one or both positions fail, that could sink Miami’s chances to improve on offense and return to the playoffs.

I remember his combine tape his footwork is stupid good and jsut has a confidence about how get goes about his business. He was probably be the best T prospect since what Tyron Smith and if the #1 pick who people ar saying is Vonn Miller JJ Watt type of impact guy says I want another shot because he got me the last time how can you not be excited

Better late than never. Glad to see him where he belongs.

Not as excited as I am lol sadly

I love a great LT and this man has the tools to become the superstar we drafted him to be.

What a blessing for our franchise!!

Is it me or do you wish he'd change his number?

Extremely petty, but just looks weird on a LT lol

Future Dolphin Hall of Famer. Anchor. Rock solid, beast. Run Jay off tackle on his side religiously and make people pay.

Brandon Albert was a good left tackle, but Laremy Tunsil will be an upgrade there. He's just that talented.

The downside to this move at least for the time being is now I get to worry about left guard.
