Dolphins may cut Leonte Carroo a year after trading up for him

ok...what I am saying is we will see...the story isn't over...you can speculate all you want on woulda, coulda, shoulda...time will tell

So true, just lost Matthews and bring in a coach with up-tempo downfield passing concepts and you need guys ready to run and sub in. Was a good move and we will see if the player catches on, like we hope Parker does, and fortunately Stills did.

Why do so many people think Miami doesn't need depth at receiver, yet they say the team needs depth in the secondary, depth on the o-line, depth on the d-line and depth at linebacker. Miami starts three receivers, if one goes down they need people who can step in. It was great that Landry, Parker and Stills played a vast majority of the snaps, but that's not the norm in the NFL... injuries happen. Even with Carroo, I would say a reserve unit of Carroo, Grant, Ford, Morgan, Scott, Lewis, Owuso and Stringfellow has some raw talent, but is very unproven. If Miami didn't draft Carroo last season I think they would have added a vet in free agency for depth or used a 3rd or 4th round pick on a receiver in the 2017 draft. I do think if the team hadn't traded the two picks for Carroo, there were receiver options in that range that the team could have considered and still had the extra pick. But I also wouldn't say having Carroo gives us more depth talent than other teams have backing up their starters.

Oh I get it, because I think it was stupid to give that much up for a player we didn't need, I'm throwing a tantrum. Grow up. Please show me where I said I hate the player, this has nothing to do with carroo. Funny how you ***** on my take of the pick, and yet you ***** about gimmick player that played a bigger roll on the team.

You really proved your maturity by cursing. This thread is questioning if Carroo will make the team or not. It has nothing to do with what was given up by the Mike T to draft him. Move on man, the picks are gone, we made the playoffs, and all Mike T doesn't run the draft room.

So you would rather Grant be the first WR off the bench if anyone misses time?

I rambled a bit asking about Carroo and depth, but my basic question would be is Carroo as the 4th receiver behind Landry, Parker and Stills any more of a luxury than Tankersly at corner behind Howard, Maxwell and Lippett? Yes I think the talent level of the three receivers is much better than that of the corners, but there's a chance Tankersly doesn't see the field as rookie unless there are injuries too. Will people get upset if there comes a time that Tankersly is inactivated because the team feels Lafayette Pitts is the better special teams player?

I don't expect Tankersley to make much of an impact until his 2nd year. He's got a lot to learn.

Regardless of depth at the positions, the difference b/w Tankersley and Carroo remains that we didn't trade up and **** away 4 draft picks to get one of them.

We traded 3 picks not 4, but we got one, so net loss of two players.

The interesting thing about Caroo is his skill set matches Laundry more than Parker or Stills.

That's true for his hands and blocking but Carroo lacks good and consistent route running which is something that is crucial for slot WRs to get separation while working the middle of the field. Landry was an excellent route runner out of college and has only gotten better.

Below is merely a single highlight but an impressive route nonetheless and something Landry displays on an every down basis.

I had to watch us pick Jamar fletcher when everyone on ESPN was preparing me for an hour for us to take Drew Brees, and you guys won't stop whining about 3 mid to late round picks. That pain resulted in us having 20 more starting qbs instead of 1, what 5-6 coaches, and zero playoff wins in a 17 year period, and you can't get over a missed back up lb, g, and practice squad player, move on.

If you didn't suffer through the 9 years of Tom Olivadotti, I don't want to hear another word.

This response is a little girlish. I won't go any further because I'm afraid I might hurt your feelings.

Agreed but you can't teack quick or speed which is Stills game and height or spring which is Parkers game but you can improve route running which is Laundrys game.
