Nice Tannehill article by Joe Schad.,.

Tannehill is pretty much probably never going to turn into Favre, and that’s OK

Yeah im almost thinking thats a good thing...Tannehill has been pretty smart with the ball in general, no need to start throwing into triple coverage to be aggressive.

Such a smart concept. Use this time to see what you are capable of....that will just build confidence. Now you know what to do and what not to do when it comes down to the regular season. Philbin would have never done this. We're very fortunate Tannehill is strong-minded and JP didn't ruin him altogether over his first 4 years.

I saw Tannehill make some ridiculously amazing throws last season. Why not work on it? Several games last year the announcers were amazed by the ball velocity and accuracy.

And Tannehill told me he believes he will be as fast in 2017 as he was in 2016.

“Yeah,” he said.

As fast?

“Yeah,” he said. “Totally normal. I know that’s hard to believe.”

Loved that part of the article.

I have heard Ron Jaworski talk about exactly what Gase is encouraging Tannehill to do in that article. Jaws said Dick Vermeil coached him to use training camp and the pre-season to "test yourself and to take chances" to find out exactly what he was capable of. It makes so much sense and I love the philosophy.

it's interesting as at beginning of last season i was thinking that the diff between RT and guys like Roeth and Rogers is the willingness to fling it into tight coverage. i think a LOT has ti do with not just trusting yourself, but your receivers. this thing is starting to really take off.

if he picks up where he left off at the time of that Cardinal incident, he will have a great season.

I think they would've made it to the 2nd round last season if Tannehill was healthy, even though the LB corps was swiss cheese. Tannehill was on fire at the end of the year.

Yeahhhhh, wishful thinking there.

Tannehill doesn't play defense and the Steelers cut through the Dolphins defense like a hot knife through butter.

Would they have been laughed off the field like they were? Doubt it. Tanny would have led some TD drives but that game was never going the other way than how it played out.

A playmaking QB can cover up a lot of deficiencies. It happens every year.

Tannehill had 12 interceptions in 2016. And 12 interceptions in 2015. And 12 interception in 2014.

And, well, you get the idea.

There’s a decent chance he’ll throw 12 interceptions in 2017.

I hate this guys writing style like he's talking to himself. Irritating. I really do hope Tannehills mobility is not affected and he helps his offensive line by moving in the pocket and stepping away from the pass rush.

I enjoyed that piece thanks for posting. Really hard not to expect Tannehill to take another step this season. He has a totally different vibe than in years past. Totally a Gase effect.

Makes sense since Gase is partially from the Vermeil coaching tree through Mike Martz.
