Nice Tannehill article by Joe Schad.,.

But Tannehill was prepared to dig into the inquiry about messaging and fear and taking chances and driving the ball down field and being more Marino-like. OK, so I did not just say that.

“It’s definitely a different message than I’ve heard before,” Tannehill said of Gase. “And you know, I’m at a point now in my career and in this offense where I can do that. Because when you’re learning an offense, when you’re learning a playcaller and how he wants to attack and what he’s trying to get out of certain plays, you do have to think a little bit. And that’s just part of the learning process. You’ve not going to understand those things week one of year one.”

Attack. Attack. Attack.
The difference between Philbin and Gase telling Tannehill to "Let It Rip" is Tannehill's confidence in Gase?

No chance Tannehill would have made a difference with the defensive injuries we had.

They literally demolished us. (Through the air and ground)

The defense was about as bad as one gets that day.

Having had so many injuries, Tannehill isn't Peyton where he can fill the defenses shoes as well.

We weren't winning that game at all. I'm super optimistic but also a realist.

We got beat in every facet of the game. It was a beating to say the least

I thought we could have been within one score before halftime. It started out bad but if not for all of Matt Moore's TO's, I think Tannehill could have made a big difference. That game could have followed the MO of previous games with late game comebacks.

Moore turned the ball over in the redzone to much, those drives would've equaled points if Tannehill played.

Scoring points changes momentum and gets the D excited again..anything possible after that.

There's always a "maybe" of course and I don't want to take away from your football IQ.

It just felt like the type of game where we literally had no shot in hell.

Moore just came off 2 games with a 105 QB rating.

Injuries were a huge reason but didn't Brown and Bell both have over 100 yds and a TD.

Our defense was horrid. We got torched and ran all over.

Very embarrassing display and of course people think it was a fluke since we got beat down so badly.

The same people who forget we kicked their A$$$$ earlier that year.

Injuries ruined our chances for sure.

It would've been closer. I hate to admit it but we didn't belong in that stadium that day.

SIAP, but I didnt see this from a few days ago- Tannehill testing his limits. Looks like game is really going to slow down for him as he said it was doing last yr right at time of that thing that happened in Card game.

Whats SIAP? Typo or some kind of acronym?

Edit: NM, looked it up. Means Sorry if already posted.

It was 20 to 6 and we were looking to make it a one score game late in the second qtr and we were going to get the ball back to start the second half. Then
1st and Goal at PIT 8
(0:27 - 2nd) (Shotgun) M.Moore sacked at PIT 17 for -9 yards (J.Harrison). FUMBLES (J.Harrison) [J.Harrison], RECOVERED by PIT-S.Tuitt at PIT 13. S.Tuitt to PIT 13 for no gain (J.James).

Then what happens when we got the ball back in the second half?
1st and 10 at PIT 37
(10:57 - 3rd) M.Moore sacked at PIT 42 for -5 yards (M.Mitchell). FUMBLES (M.Mitchell) [M.Mitchell], RECOVERED by PIT-L.Walton at PIT 41. L.Walton to PIT 41 for no gain (J.Ajayi).

We were moving the ball on them but no doubt it turned into a blowout because of missed opportunities. I'll give Bell and Brown credit for shredding our D as well.

I understand the hypothetical and fight we have as a football team.

You can tell that game was doomed from the start when Brown walked into the endzone on the first drive.

They ran all over us to the point of being sick to watch.

The score really should've been worse. They scored 14 pts within 10 mins lol

They were up 30-6 at one point lol

Even Ajayi had 16 rushes 33 yds lol

We weren't winning that game bro.

I wish otherwise but ya Tannehill could have made it closer.

They came out with a totally different mindset and physicality we didn't bring that day.

Watching Tannehills highlights has got me so damn stoked for this year. I'm all in now!

sorry bout the acronym guys and gals. guess i brought that from Aggie website i frequent, where people sometimes jump you if you post something that was already posted a day or two earlier. (its a pain to search a really busy sites to see if it has been posted already.

I'm so excited about this season, and Ryan's chances. This isn't the first time I thought Ryan would have a break out season, but here we are again. I love Ryan's confidence. I love Adam's comfidence in Ryan. I really really love how confident our WR group is. Most of all what has allowed me to get excited about Ryan yet again, is how much better he got last year behind a line that could give him time, and how he improved as he got to know the offense. The unknowns about his first years in the NFL was how much bad coaching and pass protection had to do with a mediocre start to his career. He showed us last season it was a major factor. It should only improve this year with more chemistry with a young WR group, and better working knowledge of the offense.

One good thing about the playoff loss is that it showed the coaching staff, the owner and the fan base EXACTLY where the team's weaknesses are. No way to sugar coat it. It was an utter shellacking that would've made the guys on "This Old House" jealous. Had Tannehill been in there and the score a bit closer, the end result would've been the same, but it may have lulled the front office into a false sense of security about the the state of the team and made them think that the team is only a couple of pieces away.

It wasn't just the playoff game either. This team was on their heals for the last 3 games. We squeaked by Buffalo with a FG to win it with 47 seconds left. We were blown out by NE in the same fashion as the playoff game against Pittsburgh.

The defense gave up 31, 35 & 30 points respectively over the last 3 weeks. (Both NE games last year we were down 24-3 & 20-7 at the half.)

After the season Gase came out and commented how frustrated he was that they played like crap over that time. Of course if you look at the starting roster for those games, it's not hard to figure out why.

The key to this season as always is can the line hold up.. give him time and RT has always made the defenses pay..
