Dolphins WRs top positional group?

Here is a list of the 10 most feared positional groups in the NFL (Cowboys oline is at the 1 spot, no argument there)

My question (and maybe I'm overstating how good our WRs are) is does the WR group for Miami (namely the top 3) belong on this list?

Landry is the best slot in the game, Stills might just be the best deep WR, and Parker is predicted by many to break out into a legit #1

If Parker comes of age this year, then yes our WR group belongs in that article in 2018.

Tough first two games this yr. TBs receivers are #5. Dolphins DBs will have their hands full. Then we get #6 group the next week in the Chargers DL Bosa and Ingram.

I think they overstate how good the Chargers pass rush is. Ingram has never posted more then 10.5 sacks in a year and that was 2015. Ingram is being overhyped because of how much he got paid this off-season.

The best sack duo statistically was in Arizona, Markus Golden and Chandler Jones. Arizona also had the most sacks in the NFL. But I also would state that Houston is still the best pass rush duo with Arizona is right behind them

Yeah, but Bosa sure was lights out once he signed. 10.5 sacks in 12 games.

Yeah^ if Ingram posts ~10 sacks and Bosa goes for 12+ sacks you would absolutely consider them one of the top duos. In regards to OP, Miami absolutely does not belong on that list until DVP shows up for a full season.

After this season when Parker breaks out then yes. Right now, no. Not yet.

IMHO, it's all a function of health. If DeVante Parker, Mike Pouncey and Julius Thomas are healthy all year, we definitely will belong in that list. Yes ... only one of those three is a receiver, but hear me out.

Mike Pouncey makes such a huge difference in the run game as a pulling center that it makes defenses play us differently. That means more 1v1's for Stills and Parker, and more ling passing plays for the team. More TD's for the receivers and more balance in our offense.

Julius Thomas is the mismatch guy. With him on the field, we are almost assured of a passing mismatch somewhere. Even if they can cover him on the seam routes he is a big framed guy who can convert 3rd downs. He frees up Parker to run deeper routes. He generates single coverage on Landry. While it seems unlikely that Julius Thomas can stay healthy, it seems clear that he creates more opportunities for mismatches and explosive plays in the passing game.

Injuries regularly derail great NFL units, and we have had a bunch of bad luck in that department lately. But if Parker, Pouncey and Thomas can stay healthy this year, I'm expecting a quantum surge in offensive production. Let's hope it happens.

Yeah, I think Miami is top 10 in regards to wide receiver unit. Perhaps higher if DaVante Parker can take his game to the next level. It's the best group of wide receivers the Dolphins have had in a long, long time.

Interesting, that Brooks lists New England's running backs. Am I missing something? I'd take a lot of teams situations at running back over the Patriots including Miami's. Atlanta has a nice duo there, as does Houston with the addition of Foreman. Not sure I'd list NE top 10 there.

For their offense the Patriots have some decent backs that help in the passing game. Not having Blount in short yardage and goal line situations is going to hurt them. Run wise, any success the Patriots have will be due more to defenses being stretched out trying to slow down Brady than it will be due to the quality of their backs. You put their backs in Jacksonville and people wouldn't be so impressed.

Don't let the fact Ingram got overpaid fool you. He got over paid for a reason. 10+ sacks may seem average, but couple that another pass rusher who gets 10+ sacks, you can't dismiss it
