Gase reached out to Peyton Manning after Tanny's injury...

The hit Dupree put on Moore would've ended Manning's life. I, for one, am glad the Dolphins didn't contribute to killing Peyton Manning.

Peyton as great as he was wasn't Peyton the last season he played (more picks than TD passes). His defense carried him. Ours could not have done that as banged up as they were. Honestly they were not very good at this point in the season.

All things considered Matt did a respectable job and all you can ask for from a backup QB
I doubt Manning would have done any better or even as good.
Gase and Christensen were probably just picking his brain.

No way on earth he could have outperformed Matt Moore at that point. Manning was a shell of his former self when he won his last Super Bowl and getting there had little to do with Peyton's abilities. Let's not forget he threw only 9 TD's and 17 int's that season with a 59.8% completion rate that season and he threw only 2 TD's in three playoff games and 1 int with a 55% completion rate.

mannings arm was shot in 2016 let alone 2017 but gase would have given him some quick easy reads and I can tell ya one thing peyton would have not gotten hit much...he will unload the ball or go to ground before he takes much contact and he will climb the pocket and find space when it is there...only way you are gonna hit him is if you get a free run at the los...

his pre to post snap reads are about as good as you will ever find...

plus in the postseason nothing beats you more than turnovers from the qb position absolutely nothing...

in the end though we would have gone home with our defense and his arm limitations...and we'll go home again in 2017 if something happens to tanny...you can set your watch to it

Mat Moore did a great job last yr. Give the man credit.
Without him we would of been home. He win 3 game and lost 2. He lost against 2 of best team in nfl. We was not going beat pit 2 time. They were ready second time. And if he is need he will be ready again this yr..
I'll give Matt credit for beating two of the worst teams in the NFL last year, and nothing more.
As bad as our defense was against Pitt in the playoffs, it wasn't as bad as Matts play .

This surprises me a bit. 2016 was great and I enjoyed it but at the end of the day we all had to know we weren't getting far with what defense we had left. I'd imagine the staff had to know it also. I guess their egos and the whole "get into the tournament and anything can happen" are bigger than I thought. I never even thought it was worth risking bringing Tannehill back early never mind signing manning.
