For Ajayi to reach 1,900 yards, he needs to be featured much more in the passing game, which is apparently something he’s been working on improving. The third-year running back saw just 33 targets while ranking last out of 43 qualified running backs in yards per route at 0.69 YPRR on 215 routes.

He's a workhorse. Won't be surprised to see him hit that mark.

He would have led the league this year if he had started the season as the feature back instead of toying around with Foster. Again....a lot of the success this season will depend on the healthy of Pouncey. All you have to do is look at the numbers with and without MP.

Ajayi if he had been the starter out of the gate and put up a modest 240 more yards over the first 5 games which is only 48 yards a game he would have been over 1500 yards for the season. Keep in mind that over the first five games he averaged only 6 carries a game also. Not much you can do with that type of load compared to his 21 attempts per game over the next 11 games.

Id love to see Ajayi with ridiculous amounts of yards and carries... because it would mean we were nursing alot of leads...at the very least not playing catch up too much. So many games last year we spotted the opposition a couple TDs out the gate.

I think 4 game of 200+ yards is asking a bit much as is 1,900 yards for the season. Ajayi is a good back, but it seems like people are putting All-Time great expectations on him. There are only a handful of 1,900 yard rushers in league history.

That's very true. It would also prematurely wear him out if you look at the big picture. They should (and will) just get him involved earlier in the year and he should get to a more realistic1500-1600 yards rushing. I still think 20 rushes per game is adequate with 3 or 4 more touches receiving. We have some talent behind him that also needs to get involved. I want to see Drake more.

They are talking about 1900 total yards. Rushing and receiving. Still sounds lofty but not completely as crazy as 1900 rushing sounds. That aint happening

I love how he runs, reminds me of Ricky. I really hope he can be reliable again this year; too many backs have had one good year followed up by poor performances. 1900 yards is a lot, but if the line can stay healthy I believe he can come close.

That would most likely mean we have a top notch offense.

If Ajayi gets 1900 total yards, we as a fan base have a great future.

Those stats would make him potentially the best back in the league. (Already top 5 IMO)

We've stuck with them through the bad. It's about that time

Yeah I don’t think the article is saying he will rush for 1900 yards I think it is saying 1900 yards from LOS, which means he would need to add about 400-500 yards receiving on the run production from last year. Which is doable just when does has get those targets with the receiving core we have?

1400 yards rushing and 250 passing yards and you've done a lot. That is even a high goal and you have to remember now teams will expect Jay to run.

1600+ yards means you are top 6 in the league in terms of yards from scrimmage.

My expectations are for Jay to have a similar rushing total yards. Instead of 2 monstrous games, he will have a few more 100+ games. Pick up the 1-2 yard critical 3rd and 4th downs. What I also hope to see from Jay is him picking up critical first downs with pass plays and yards after the catch. I would also like to see Drake have a bigger role. Instead of a ground and pound attack, I want explosive aerial attack with an explosive ground game.

The article stated total yards, not just rushing yards.
