That steady stream of criticism eventually got to Tannehill, Dolphins safety Michael Thomas acknowledged on CBS Sports Radio’s The DA Show Monday.

“I'd definitely say different pressures, especially while losing, it can affect guys differently,” Thomas said, when asked about the sense that Tannehill wasn’t ready, maturity wise, to handle the fire early on. “I’d say it’s fair to say that, but I definitely say it’s helped him. He’s learned from it and now I feel like he is that leader. He is that leader in the locker room. He is that leader of our team and it’s made him better.”

Idiots who doubt Tannehill: "See, it was good that I was blind for so long!"

The rest of us: smh

I think teammate and head coach are just saying right word. when it come to thill17. he is not elite. if he was elite dolphins would be winning afc east. the bottom line our head coach know he need thill17 to be on his best games to win this yr. this yr will tell us if dolphins are for real or not. we have not had gb in so long. some of our fan do not no want elite look like as qb.

Love how they're now keeping everything said, in house. No more leaking bullshit to the media!

Pffft, then will Brady suddenly not be elite? Cant have it both ways in this weird scenario.

Not much question left that he is a leader to this team.

let's be real. you don't know elite from dog****. So if he were 'elite' by your standards, we would then automatically win the afc east- (where 2 of the greatest in the history of game reside)???

who are the elite qb's in your book? I seem to recall drew brees is one of them, why has his team and miami had nearly the same record the last 5 years? He's an elite qb- he should have taken the saints the playoffs

Seriously, stop critiquing Tannehill. This "elite" nonsense needs to stop. As travis just pointed out with a simple comparison.
Not to mention your analysis is completely incorrect every time you give it.

"Elite" is a very sensitive word around these parts. I wonder when this term for qbs became mainstream...

Nothing would make me happier than RT showing some fire and leadership on the field this season.

Unfortunately, emotion seems to indicate leadership and lack there of gets a lot of fans thinking he doesn't care. Fans get pissed after losses and after a down games from Thill but I would rather have a QB work at getting better than one who just gets mad and doesn't improve. Tannehill is improving but he's not elite or a top 5 QB and no one said he was. Thomas said he's taking the steps to be an elite QB and Thomas' definition of elite may be different than ours.

"I definitely think a lot of people, they ride him a little too much, but I see the grind that he puts in every single day staying late. He’s even helping us out trying to decipher what offenses are trying to do to us. So I think he is taking that next step to be an elite quarterback.”

it strange how some fan get mad when you know a player is not elite but they want say he is. if thill17 was he would be in top 100. he would be top 10. I want dolphins to win but I am not going boost player up if I know he is not all that. yes Ryan improved but so did Mat Moore. so what ur point. some of yall are trying give thill17 mvp without playing down. I want our qb to be elite but I am not sure he is avg???

Where/how did Moore improve? He beat the Jets and Bills (and made some poor decisions in the Buffalo game). Had 3 costly turnovers vs Pitt in the playoff game. Two when we were set to score. Doesn't matter that he went 29/36. He killed those drives.
