Amid declining health, Jim Kiick buoyed by Dolphins gesture

This was classy: The Dolphins and some of Jim Kiick’s former teammates teamed up to buy him a Super Bowl ring to replace the one he lost.

Neither the Dolphins nor the involved teammates sought publicity for this, but Richard Anderson mentioned it in a conversation last week.

Very cool those guys did that for him. Sad to read about his health. Kiick is a NJ native who grew up not far from where I live now. In fact, years ago my daughter was doing competitive cheering and she had a competition at the HS in Lincoln Park - we got into the gym, and there was Kiick's jersey proudly displayed on the wall. I knew he was from NJ at the time but didn't know or recall from where. Was pretty cool to be surprised like that.

Awesome, great gesture by them.
