Lofty projection sets Dolphins RB Ajayi at 1,900 total yards in 2017

400 - 500 receiving yards is a lot. I don't think he gets that with our offense. Too many receiving targets out there. Unless he runs a few 75 yarders back.

I love how he runs, reminds me of Ricky. I really hope he can be reliable again this year; too many backs have had one good year followed up by poor performances. 1900 yards is a lot, but if the line can stay healthy I believe he can come close.

Reminds me of Marshawn Lynch to a "T".

I want Ajayi to have a huge season but I don't want to wear the guy out. I'd like to see him play for the Dolphins for a long time. We have a ton of play makers on this offense and only 1 Football to go around. Parker has to get targeted, Thomas will have a big role on the offense, Landry and Stills are our bread and butter receivers, Williams will get some plays called for him and Kenyan Drake's skills will require him to get some plays so my point is we don't have to overuse a guy who has questionable knees. If we get lucky with Pouncey's health our offense will be top 5 or 6 in the NFL imo, Tannehill is going to explode this season. He's going to the Pro Bowl and the Play Offs this year!

This guy will break records. If this dude is blessed with 6-7 more healthy seasons this beast of a RB will have a bunch of hardware to display in his flat for the rest of his life.

I was thrilled when we drafted him because I thought he was ultra talented but I am even happier for him to have the success as he's a cool dude. This man will be a fan favorite for a while.

Laremy Tunsil will pave the way to some monster games in 2017 and beyond. It would be nice to continue to fortify the OL (where have you heard that before) the next couple of drafts.

I think 4 game of 200+ yards is asking a bit much as is 1,900 yards for the season. Ajayi is a good back, but it seems like people are putting All-Time great expectations on him. There are only a handful of 1,900 yard rushers in league history.
1900 yards is within reach. He has to rush for an average of 100y/game and add 300 yards receiving. It is possible. Elliot did it last year. Aj ran for almost 1300 and he wasn't the starter in the beginning of the season. To reach that goal we could not afford those 30 or 40 yard rushing games very often though. I doubt that he will get a 200 yard game next year to make up for those games. A lot will depend on play calling as well, health of the OL and health of Aj.

Personally I think he will end up (if he stays healthy and plays a full season) around 1400 yards rushing and maybe 250 yards receiving. That puts him solidly into the top 5.

I just think some people should pump the breaks a bit. It's a repeated pattern here... people build up a player or the team as being at some elite like level and then when they fail to reach these ungodly expectations fans start to turn on them. It happens here regularly.

More likely to average 80 yds per game and maybe 20 yds rec per game....around 1600 yds wouldn't suck....this offense will spread the ball and rely on pounding the rock and play action....time of possession and keeping opposing defenses off balance....I don't see a game changing super star (A Peterson, B Sanders etc) but a controlled attack with very good players in key positions....IMO

give me 1500 All Purpose Yards and we are good, anything more than that he better be on my fantasy team

Combined....not just rushing.

Ajayi is the only back in FBS history with over1500 rushing and 500 receiving in the same season...not a stretch at all in 16 games.

I think your low on the receiving...400+ is my guess.

That 1900 yard number includes rushing AND passing yards
