Jay Cutler's throwing motion

If he's nursing a sore arm or shoulder look out when he's healed cause he made some fine throws including the one to DVP that was called a no catch.

The hail mary is actually kind of an after thought.....his arm did not look right to me. This is coming from someone who likes Cutler here and glad we have him. A lot of his throws looked average with a lot more body put into them more than usual. They lacked the zip I am use to seeing and saw during the preseason. He didn't look like Pennington or anything, but just looked like he was laboring a little bit more than he usually does. Hopefully nothing, but just something I picked up on.

I'd say if you're concerned to take a look at the throw he made to Parker where Parker got hit low and knocked out of bounds. That should quell any concerns. Even then, 90% arm strength Cutler is a top 5-10 arm talent in the league easily.

I can't say for sure if it was a Hail Mary or a overthrown pass, but that was Parker and he's supposed to catch 80% of all 50/50 balls. At least give them a chance.

I can say for sure. That was not a hail Mary. That was either a designed throw away, or the worst designed hail Mary in history. Gase is better than that. It was a throw away.

If the main thing "football fans" were talking about was Jay Cutler's obvious run the clock out Hail Mary, there's a bigger bias than I thought against Cutler. The guy had a beautiful game IMO. Let's be dicks and point out a stupid hail mary with one receiver lol Unreal criticism. Cutler's arm looked fine. He made some very nice throws especially a few making nothing to something big plays like Stills Td and that floater to Parker over his head. Cutler def showed he can be a reliable NFL QB. Imagine how many Highlights we'd see if Cutler threw an int or 2. Until now, I didn't realize the absolute hatred for Cutler. Nothing is better than shutting up the Cutler haters for at least 1 week lol

Just out of curiosity did anyone else think that Jay lacked a little zip on his ball that he normally has and seemed to be throwing more with his body, almost a heaving motion? I know he took a pretty good shot on the keeper. That Hail Mary was really bad as well. Something just did not look right to me. Hopefully it is nothing as he played a good game. Anyone else pick up on this?
Why is everybody saying it was a Hail Mary? You can't throw a hail mary from the pocket and expect a couple receivers to get to the endzone. A QB has to give them time to get there.

It was a normal pass downfield which he tossed out of bounds when nobody was open. He tried to hit Parker (I believe it was him) on the outside and he was covered.

Can we just kill this hail mary talk? It was obvious even in real time. Think we're really calling a hail mary with one WR split out wide?

You absolutely can say for sure. We had like 10 guys in blocking basically and one guy running a route. You're down 1 score getting the ball back in the 2nd half. Risking a pick 6 in that situation isn't good business.

Ya seriously bro lol If fans cannot understand the point of that play, they probably should give it another look. That was the main thing "football fans" had to try and discount a brilliant performance by Cutler. It's only 1 game but Cutler looked comfortable and honestly made no terrible throws. Cutler and Gase have a special relationship that cannot be understated. Gase won't allow Cutler to get down on himself IMO.

Jay Cutler reminds me so much of Chad Pennington when his arm was good.

He knows how to read a defense for sure.

To the original poster. I kinda get what your saying I seen a lot of wobbly balls thrown as well that didn't seem like they had the zip they had in the preseason.

I noticed Cutler was throwing flat footed and opened his stance more than normal. It's what you see when you watch Brett Favre. It didn't seem to affect Cutler too much. Certain guys can do it, most cant though. I'm not worried about it.
