Timmons suspended indefinitely

I'm hearing he felt compelled to fly back to Pitt to see his child?
Heard that somewhere too. Fine, call your boss and tell him you have a family issue. I hate that we have to play without him, but if you don't show up for work for 2 days without letting your job know, you should be fired. Period. If drugs were involved, his fault. If psychological issues loom, i dont think the Dolphins would have suspended him. He screwed up and is paying the price. If it's true he wanted to be back with the Steelers, then he made his bed. See ya. If he is suspended 4 games and then plays for us, fine, but this was the right call. I dont think we are going to get any more info but its pretty bad when your team has to file a missing persons report because you're mad at a coach for enforcing a rule or you have a family issue.

Isn't that one of the characteristics of a "TRUE Leader"??? Taking accountability for his troops? Not throwing them under the bus?
Not to mention that the very few details we know means Gase is doing his best to keep this private to protect the guy he's pissed at.

There is a detailed article about Timmons suspension on "Pro Football Weekly". I just don't know how about to post the link. It details he CBA and how it affect his contract.

According to Article 4, Section 9 of the league’s CBA, NFL teams may try to recoup money from players who have breached their contracts. That includes “any player who willfully fails to report, practice or play with the result that the player’s ability to fully participate and contribute to the team is substantially undermined (for example, without limitation, holding out or leaving the squad absent a showing of extreme personal hardship) …”

Further, the CBA notes that players who commit a forfeitable breach for the first time “may be required to forfeit up to twenty-five percent (25%) of his Forfeitable Salary Allocations upon missing his first regular season game.”The Dolphins could to go after some or all of that bonus money, depending on what the team decides to do with Timmons for the remainder of the season or beyond.

I just hope if Miami eventually cuts him this season, they'll free up some cap space to roll over into next year. Now that It seems his guaranteed money will be voided for 2018 it also helps with cap relief next year as well. Just don't know the specifics of dead money or cap savings from a voided contract due to breach?

I hate to say it but building team culture is more important in the long run than having one good linebacker on the field.

What would Shula do?
SHULA -- would hv told him if he wants to play for him he needs to walk home --FROM LA--and even then he would just think about it !!!!!!!

and then SERIOUS problems after

yea - unfortunately i thought gase was suspending timmons to sideline the issue for a week or two....now it seems like we may not see timmons ever play for the fins....not excited about it

Trading for Anthony tells me that Timmons is done in Miami.

I was impressed with Chase Allan with his limited numbers of plays. Practicing and playing middle LB all summer and then being told you are starting outside the night before a real game and preforming as well as he did is impressive.

Um wow. I'm not sure the Anthony trade means Timmons is done because we are paper thin with him.

But, I would guess it does mean he is done.

Standing by my prediction that the fins will go full force after every penny.
