The Dolphins are taking a bit of a gamble this season by rolling with two quarterbacks on the active roster, especially when those are two of the oldest players on the team. If Jay Cutler and Matt Moore go down, Miami’s next option is tight end MarQueis Gray or receiver Jarvis Landry.
Gray played quarterback at the University of Minnesota but has been exclusively a tight end since making it to the NFL in 2013. He still throws occasionally and claims he’s still got it.
“Oh yeah,” he said. “We compete with the players every now and then. Actually throwing to receivers, I haven’t done that, but drills-wise and having competitions, I’m still the top dog.”

Gray is a baller. Needs more playing time. Not sure he got very many snaps last week.

I know Gase is smarter than me, but I would keep turnstile Thomas on a short leash. Honestly, if he can't block and Cutler isn't throwing him the ball because he can't get open, then what good is he? I would put Gray in and let him develop more and maybe in the long run he could help us because he can block and catch passes.

I'm an Illini fan (I also follow USC because the Illini suck year after year), and I remember watching him lead Minnesota to like a 62-0 win. I had no idea that he was the same guy when we picked him up as a TE. Definitely a fan of this guy!

Also, I thought it was normal for teams to carry 2 qbs on the 53, and just have one on the practice squad ready to go at any time.

I, too, am an Illini fan, and just wanted to say I'm sorry.

I may be crazy, but wouldn't it be great if Gray could turn into another Jim Jensen.:thumbsup

I do miss Crash. The ultimate X factor.

You never knew what that guy was gonna do, but you knew it would be fun to watch. Crash was an animal.
