Anyone worried Dolphins V JETS will be close at the end?

I agree nobody should be taken lightly, and certainly not a division game.

But the Irma / Timmons comment was sound logic last week before the Chargers game. Its flawed logic now because the team has already overcome that adversity.

I disagree. The team is not some lifeless robot. Gase so far has been able to multi-task and absorb a lot this, but even he will show signs of pressure. Many of these coaches and players have family and friends whose life's have been devastated. I'm sure when these guys are done practicing they are in some way or form involved in their communities. The Timmons fiasco is still ripe this week with the addition of another linebacker and internalization of the situation by the Coach and thus the entire organization. With that said, I do believe our Head Coach and this particular team will persevere with these distractions. It will make our success even that much sweeter.

Well, it's a division game, it's an away game, it's against a team that is 0-2, and most important, it's against the hated Jets, so anything is possible, it could very well be close.

I will say one thing, if Miami is able to blow out these Jets, it will send a very loud signal, that this is not the same Dolphins we have been seeing for a while now. Staying in close in tougher games, then winning at the end...blowing out the teams it should...being competitive, or actually beating top teams in the NFL are all signs of a well coached team, who will not be intimidated, will play hard, will not quit, and if you you are not talented, or let up, will blow you out. Simply put: A TOP TEAM IN THE NFL.

Any given Sunday...a truism if there ever was one. For those of you who may not remember, the Jets were a solid team in the late 80s, early 90s but always seemed to come up short against the Colts, who were in the AFC East at the time and a decidedly less-than-good team. All it takes is one dropped pass, one lucky bounce, one missed field goal and you're going from the penthouse to the outhouse in record time.

If by "close" you mean a win by less than a touchdown, that's the current Vegas line (-6.5), and you won't find a better prediction of the outcome of games.

So, the people who stand to gain or lose the most money on this game believe it'll be close.

Anybody who thinks the Dolphins will win by double digits should immediately take that bet if he can afford it.

Believe it or not, I'm worried about Austin Sefarian-Jenkins making his season debut. I know he hasn't done much and he's definitely shown a serious case of rocks-for-brains in his young NFL career, but there's no denying the athleticism he brings and we still have issues with covering TEs. Pair that with the fact that the Jets are super thin at receiver and McCown has the arm strength of wet ramen noodles and I could see him and Leggett being heavily involved in the game plan. Not a huge worry, but something to be on the lookout for regardless.

The fins have not shown that they can dominate any team, so until they become more New England like as far as their approach every team is going to give them problems, it seems like they're always missing a component to their team, the veteran players are not dominating their posistion by any means.

Sure dominated the jets in N.Y. last season, just saying

That was like one blowout. We rarely blow teams out yet finheaveners predict it like it happens frequently. Biggest fifference to me is Bryce Petty is a ham and egger while McCown is competent. Him vs our defense, or anyone for that matter scares me. The offense should be fine though and also should score plenty of points.

I am in Orlando for 2 weeks with my family, coming over from the UK.. I really want to see the Fins at home.. but fear I cannot afford or get tickets with all the expense of coming over.. anyone in Orlando or Miami know of a good place to go to see the game ..

In 2012 @ NYJ, Tannehill went down with a knee injury and in came Matt Moore and his WR targets were Brian Hartline, Marlon Moore, Jabar Gaffney and Davone Bess... we won 30-9. In 2013 we beat them 23-3 and it should have been 37-3. Then add in last years 34-13 win.

So basically yes, we have blown them out 3 of the last 5 times in their (Giants) stadium.

OK, I was talking more blowouts in general. not just the Jets. However I guess you guys are right, we do kill the Jets often.

Still more worried about McCown than the ham and egger Petty we saw last time.

People say we dominated them last year. It wasn't exactly domination. In the first game we had a 4 point victory at home. Then on the road we had a 3 point lead at halftime, and a few lucky things happened in the third quarter when we scored 21 points for the easy win. A few unlucky things and it could have gone the other way.

Anyway, I think we will win. :)
