If Anthony and Timmons start next to Kiko we could be set to do good things on D. Wait for McDonald to return and boom

Not to totally defend the contract, because I wanted them to wait for starters, but I think Hoops made a good point that it isisnt the easiest thing in the world to totally rebuild your enttire LB core quickly . I'm more upset with some of the LB we could have had a chance on and passed on over the last few years

I don't see what that has to do with the decision to extend him when he had a year left?

Just a thought on Hightower's - his body isint going to hold up IMO, thats why I wasnt in for giving him a huge contract.

It's not like he shredded his knee twice already

I said I preferred they wait- the consideration was lets say they waited and he decided to leave. Your left with little at LB like we already have-since they basically havent put the proper resources into the position.

Check Hightower's injury history- its not pretty- and he was hurt this year already. It would have been a mistake to pay him a bunch, probably why most teams didnt.

If in 2018 the Dolphins offered him top 5 guaranteed dollars for off the ball LBs like they did this year Kiko wasn't going ANYWHERE.

And if his 2017 performance didn't warrant that type of money then it's an easy decision to move on. Overpaying an average player because you're weak at the position is how you end up with long term deals you regret, Hartline, Branch, etc
