Report: Dolphins LB Lawrence Timmons wanted to return to Steelers

There is only one reason Mike T would have taken this over. Think about that? Its trade/contract etc realated. Why else would have taken control.

About the only reason we havent heard more sooner is how do you just come out and say ' the player wants out'.

Because it was an ongoing affair that required time devoted to it, and Adam Gase has a team to coach and no time to deal with the minutiae of this situation?
 
If this is true how could we possibly trust the guy if it became apparent we were either competing with Pitt for a playoff spot or facing them head-to-head?

Hard to see him suiting up as a Phin and yeah, I think Mike T is trying to work out a trade.
 
Weird that doesn't mention Pouncy was there too..... Must not fit the narrative.

My belief is that Gase is so furious and tired of dealing with and just wants to focus on football. I also believe Gase would have cut Timmons but knows it isn't the best choice at this point so he just pushed it upon Mike to deal with.
 
The team is probably looking at the language of his contract and looking for an out. Gase is right not to get involved. Let the organization deal with him.
I would not want him back on my team. Let those guys that care suit up and play. This LB core will not be better with a player like Timmons that doesn't care about winning.
He stepped on Ricky Williams back and I will never forget that. The guy was trash then and he still is now.
Going forward, if this type of behavior isn't covered in the contract clauses, it should be specifically going forward...especially for free agents.
 
Watching the Steelers game today and announcers say Harrison isn't playing much anymore because their young LBers are exceeding expectations. If Timmons wants back in Pitt, they don't need him. Makes it near impossible for tbum to fix the situation.
I'm interested on seeing how this plays out. My guess is Timmons accepts being a fin ain't so bad. If not, tell him he's being traded to the browns, Bengals or ravens.
