Cutler vs. Tannehill Season-Long Comparison Thread

After watching today, the best thing to do is continue to build the team using FA, only cheap veteran players who help fill holes, and draft, draft, draft.

Tannehill is good enough for a couple more years.

Only way to go get a qb is if Miami is picking top 5 and that may not be a bad prediction.

Making the playoffs with a depleted team with little talent was fun, but it hurt the team in terms of adding talent to it.

Why would anyone want to compare them week in week out. Was it good to do after week one? No. Week Two? No. What a waste of time.
Everyone knows what both bring regardless. I suppose if you like to roll around in meaningless stats, have at it.

I think the thread title should be changed to:

Cutler vs Tannehill, Long Season Comparison Thread

distorting, convoluting and using selective stats to further an obsession ala "shouright style" while showing little or no interest in any other aspect of the team certainly is!!

We all know he's on to something here.....

Let's not forget "admitting to making up figures in order to troll people" and "having a full on meltdown and insulting another poster's family." Those are real staples of this excellent posting style.

If it's of any consolation, if one goes by passer rating alone, 34 of Cutler's 141 games as a starter in the NFL have been worse than today's.

That's 24%, or nearly one of every four.

So, if he starts 16 games this year, one should expect that roughly four of them would be like today's or worse.

I dunno, should Miami draft a qb high or a defensive player?

Decisions decisions.

As much as I want a LBer, FS, or interior oline, alot of folks in the gameday thread are hellbent on pinning the loss on Cutler.

If QB play was the reason we lost, we should draft a QB. :p

In all seriousness though, Tanny might not come back 100%. We might want to start thinking about our QB of the future.

If we stink up the rest of this season and land a top 5 spot in the draft, I think I go for Darnold.

I'd take Rosen over him. But yeah Tannehill isn't guaranteed to be 100% again..BUT it's 2017 and ACL injuries aren't what they used to be.

Defense needs talent. The offense has proven when the qb is playing good they can score point points. Hell Matt Moore scored 34 against the Jets. Qb play matters.

Brutal.

I can't win with qb play like that.

Although outside of x Howard who played like a 1 the entire team gets a fail grade. Plus the coaching staff

So wear it with pride boys.

Frankly the qb looked like he belonged on his couch.

Come out of the half perfect pa deep middle route to stills throws a one hopper. Bad ball placement all game long. Missed Jarvis Landry for a td so bad on an easy read juice said screw it I don't want to play anymore. Last drive dvp catches his first ball looks at it like this is what I'm here for?

Way too much back foot and bad placement throws. Yep it helps avoid lead leg injuries but he trust his arm to bail out his mechanics way too much and it shows.

Some of that contact he brings on himself I find it hard to believe he's gonna make it 16 games.

All that said we have no other choice and this is the best option for 2017
