Jets Vs Dolphins

I don't see how you feel good about yourself if you're a Miami Dolphin right now. A win is a win yes, but they can't be satisfied with their level of play so far this season. Defense has stepped up in a big way but if the team doesn't feel as though they need to vastly improve on offense then there's no hope for them this season.

One thing I will say though is this team fights, and it started last year but for the first time in what seemed like forever the ball has been bouncing in our favor. I remember the days when it seemed like a kick was NEVER missed against us, and now we're winning games because kickers are missing in critical moments, penalties are going our way it seems etc. We are a QB away from probably being 5-0, but could have easily have been 0-5 also if LAC makes the easy kick, Reshad Jones wasn't the only player out of 22 on the field that thought there was a deadball, and if we didn't get crucial penalties called in our favor against ATL. Hey I'm not complaining though... I'll take good luck all year long baby!

Every team gets bounces and questionable/timely penalties that go it's way. Good teams take advantage of them, bad teams don't. For far too long Miami was a team that didn't. Not saying every team gets good breaks every game, but those breaks have to turn in to points when they turn up. Personally, I saw very little fight from the team until ATL 2H. Not saying NO fight, but particularly the O looked disinterested much of the time.

To me, Miami is 2 OGs away from being a capable O. That doesn't mean TE couldn't use an upgrade, but OG would be my 1st two upgrades. Maybe Larsen will help. I'm a Gase fan, but he needs a real OC, or at least a more aggressive mindset. I've posted elsewhere I see improvement since August 1016 and realize this will take time. For a positive spin, Miami is 3-2 with an inept O. If Gase can get it up to average, the future looks much brighter.

I have faith in the defense. They are actually fun to watch right now and gaining momentum. Offensively, Miami must get push from the OL and have success running the ball, not just for the sake of having the running game, but to set up the best thing Cutler has done all year, which is hit those play action slants across the middle. As crappy as Cutler has been this year, his throws off play action, in rhythm, across the middle have been absolutely spot on. Everyone who talks about "opening up the offense" relates that to the deep pass. That's just not who we are with this OL, yet, and if Parker doesn't play, just forget about the bomb. 7-12 yard chunks across the middle are Jay's best throw. The one he put on Landry for a first down late in the game Sunday was an outstanding pass (and catch).

My problem with pass game is when it ISN'T used. 8-9 in the box on 1st and 10 and Gase calls a run. True, he did get better in ATL 2H, but, PLEASE, go deep. Doesn't have to be a catch, but it needs to force the D to account for the possibility. For now, it appears, they have ZERO fear, and that's with Stills and Parker. And I STILL want to see Stills wide left, Grant wide right. Bet there's no 8 in the box then. Tangentially, Cutler was said to be good at changing plays. Seems he does it infrequently which I find particularly annoying with 8-9 in the box. I see little consistent separation by the receivers. Again, better in ATL 2H, but not enough for me to bank on it. And I'll just casually mention dropped passes. I don't mind 5-7 yard throws unless it's 3rd and 12. Given all that, Cutler still has to prove himself, though he's one of a few problems.

i'll be at this game screaming at the top of my lungs for my fins (and hopefully avoiding beating the crap out of unruly Jests fans).

I hate the Jets as much as anyone, but that play last week against the Pats that nullified their TD is probably stuck in there heads and rightfully so. I see this game being a hard tough fought game. Honestly don’t know who will win.

i want to see this top 10 defense go out and put on display a seattle like defensive performance...snuff the life out of this jets o

take it to another level

I hope this defense is for real. All I heard all offseason wasn't you can't rebuild a defense in one offseason yet it seems like we rebuilt a defense in one offseason.
