Why isn’t TE Julius Thomas producing for Miami Dolphins?

I still think that Julius Thomas can be a big weapon. However, maybe Cutler needs to throw to him a little softer. Just firing low balls like bullets around his knees will make him look ordinary. Throw it up more to take advantage of his height.

Because the QB isn't producing Duh!!

People give way too much credit to TE's and WR's that catch balls from some of the GOATS. Cutler isn't the one to get the best out of him, and I don't think Tanny would make him elite again either. He is what he is.......and that's a former Pro Bowler who excelled catching passes from Peyton Manning.

Should have saved that cash to pay Landry and stuck with Simms and Gray.

I don't really buy ball placement as the key issue here, although it has been really bad. I remember watching him in Denver and couldn't believe how he was always wide open. They had other great weapons and a great QB, but Miami's skill spots aren't horrid by any stretch. It is either his lack of effort or lost athleticism, or a scheme which simply doesn't get him open in the windows he had constantly in Denver. The big drop he had a couple of weeks ago on the 3rd down play was underthrown, but it was, in my opinion, put in a really good place where only he had a play on it, and he had it with both hands. That was completely on him. If Brady makes that same throw, commentators would have gushed over the placement where only he could get to it (not the defender). Don't mistake me for a Cutler apologist... I'm the furthest thing from that!

Miami wont be alone in the high pick tight end market this offseason Indianapolis is in dire need of an upgrade there

You watch Jared Cook getting separation, making contested catches, turning upfield for YAC and you think " Thomas is younger than him and should be able to do all that".

But no.

Cook moves like a WR. Thomas moves like a retired DT.

There have been lots of dropped by everyone so far, to me speed appears to be a issue. What kind of injuries did he have. We they knee and foot issues that will affect the speed. As for Gase I have no problem as long as we keep improving and win. After years of under performance in the coaching department since Shula was run out of town by the fans and media I am satisfied for now heck they could run out Bozo the clown for all I care and if we win and improve so be it.

He's here because Gase, for all his many plus points, loves a retread.

The more we see Gray get phased into the offense the better it will be
