Dolphins looked better without Mike Pouncey

I do find it quite ironic that once the OL coach and RUN GAME CORDINATOR gets fired the OL and running game looks as good as it as all year..
I wouldn't say it's ironic, I'd say it makes sense, considering our previous OL coach (and run game coordinator) spent his working hours doing drugs.

I really wish we would cut Pouncey & Maxwell and give their money to Landry. Then draft Oline in the first, second, and third and put this problem behind us!

One thing those Omar tweets really prove is that Gase's offense works best with good TE's. Having TE's that can both block and catch opens up the run game and in turn that opens up the passing game.

And we all know the reason we don't invest in TE's is that our best receiver, Landry, plays the slot, the very position that comes out of the game when you load up on TE's like Gase did in the 2nd half.

Brendel did a good job of getting to the 2nd level, and was sporadically effective at the 2nd level. But, we still need better guards to make the center effective releasing to the 2nd level.

This really isn't rocket science.

I miss the old dead horse emoticon.

So true.

And whatever Gase was thinking about keeping Pouncey on ice during week and off-season and having him supposedly dominate during games... ugh. That is a non-starter. Always has been.

Someday Miami will have a good interior OL. Maybe sometime in the next decade, lol.

Probably after RT17's career has been wasted. Amazing, to think about how many years the OL has been the primary breakdown in offensive success. Years and years.

Maybe Sunday was a step forward in finding lunch-pail players who will show up play in and play out with passable play, and create an OL top 15 or so, pass-blocking and run blocking. An average OL for Miami would be like the difference between Timmons and the players at that position the decade prior. Light years difference. Seeing real play up close and personal in Miami will cause fans to wonder where such talent eval has been forever...?

Seems to me that many of the best offensive lines are the ones that are cohesive units over time where guys don't get hurt a lot. Not sure if you can draft for that quality but...

We really, really, really need a tight end that can block and that is also a major threat in the passing game.

I think many of us have known Pouncey is over-rated. If Albert got voted off the fan-island because of injuries, Pouncey deserves impeachment.

Yeah, it does suck that now we have a good RB, good WR corps., and really good individuals on defense like Wake, Suh and Reshad Jones. _IF_ we had a good OL, this could be a team that Tannehill could really take into contention. But sadly ... we just don't value OL. We don't go for good technicians, but rather try to find raw gems who have the upside to be regular Pro-Bowlers, but almost all of the time end up being abject failures. In an era when players don't stay with teams and teams cannot afford to pay to keep their players ... we're one of the few teams still betting on long shots.

If we had a solid OL, then Ajayi could enjoy seasons like we had from Ricky Williams. I'm not saying Ajayi is as good as Williams, but there is no denying that the J-Train is exceptional at shrugging off arm tackles and making great yardage after contact. That's the type of RB you can build a dominant running attack around in the NFL ... if you have an OL.

Pouncey played 28 snaps...if Atlanta's defense was winded after 28 snaps then their coach should be fired for not having them better conditioned. Brendel played 39 snaps.

28 snaps into the game and a d-lineman is as fresh as the first snap of the game? I don't think so. There's definitely an advantage of playing fresh. Not diminishing Brendel's play, but the guy came into the game at a good time.
