Dream coming true... Gonna see my first Dolphins Game live!

Hey Guys

I know, I'm not someone who post nearly regularly in here. Actually I almost never post anything, but I'm a all day visitor here. Like I wrote in my introduction post I was in Miami already twice, but since I always had to plan the trips quite early, I wasn't able to witness a game at Hard Rock Stadium in person yet. There were always road games, when I was in Miami. But since my first visit in 2012 it is one of my biggest wish to finally see a game at Hard Rock Stadium and experience the atmosphere in there.

So finally I decided to just make my dream come true. It was always hard for me to make it happen, since it is a long and expensive flight over to Miami from here in Switzerland. But since I feel like the personal situation at the moment is perfect, I started watching for a flight over to you. So I finally found a flight not too expensive, gathered all my courage and just booked my flight yesterday. I will arrive on Thursday, the 30th of November and will leave again on Monday, the 5th of December so I will be able to see the game against the Broncos.

I have so many question and I'm really looking forward to it (well actually I would have love to see Tannehill, but I think I will have a good time even with Cutler under center ;)), since I think this is going to be a great experience. I hope that I maybe will get some answers in this thread. :)

  • Where and when should I buy my tickets? I thought that I will be buying my ticket from the official Ticketshop on the Miami Dolphins website. Is it best to buy the ticket now?
  • In which section should I buy my ticket? I'm 25 years old, so I would love to stay in a section where there is a good atmosphere. But since it is my first NFL Game I'd love to also have a good view. It is really hard to decide for me, since I have never been there. ;)
  • Where should I sleep near the 'Rock'? I probably will get a rental car, but I don't want to drive after the game, so I can drink some beer. I thought about sleeping at the Hotel Stadium, but for 2 nights it is really expensive and since I'm still a student I don't want to spend too much money overall. I thought about taking a Hotel in Hollywood, where it is less expensive and i could take a Uber after the game. Is this a good Idea?
I still have a lot of other questions, but I think these are the most important ones a the moment. :) I hope that I can maybe ask some more question as the games gets closer.

So that's it for the moment. I'm sorry if anybody didn't like the read or that I opened a new thread for that, but I'm so hyped at the moment and really looking forward to it, so I had to share this with all of you. I hope to see a lot of you at the Finheaven Tailgate on December 3rd. :):)

PS for mods: If this is the wrong place for the thread feel free to move it somewhere else.

Dude. What a game, I'm sure you had a blast - can't wait to hear more about it!!

OP I'm so happy for you. I've seen my share of Marino come backs. I'd have to put today's game as one of my all time FAV come from behind wins. It's really exciting to see our D play so well and to finally see a small glimmer of the potential of this offense.

Very happy for you man!

Awesome! I'm looking forward to the answers to those questions as well. I have also yet to see the Dolphins play (whether it be home or away). I respect your dedication to fly that far to see them. Makes me want to do the same as my flight would not be that far.

I will be keeping you on my mind when they play the Broncos! Hope we can pull off a win then!

Great man! Have a wonderful trip and hopefully you can be our good luck charm!

Hey guys

I have one more question since i'm thinking about buying the gameticket now. In which section would you recommend me to buy tickets? Like I wrote in the opening post I would love to be somewhere with a good view and where is a good atmosphere. :) I thought about getting a ticket in the 100 Level. I saw one in section 150 for a reasonable price. What do you think about this section? The 200 Level is to expensive for me and the 300 Level seems to be quit high and far away from the fiel. :facepalm Is there a better atmosphere in the sections behind the endzones or where is the best atmosphere and which section would you recommend? Since I have never been to a American Football game it is really hard to decide. :arghh

Would be great to get some different opinions and I would be very thankful. :)

Awesome man, hope you have a great and safe trip, and hopefully the Fins can pull out a big victory. Fins Up! I am going to make it down to Miami for a game one of these days. Funny thing is I will be in Disney the week of Thanksgiving

I was 25 when I saw my first Dolphins home game, too! It's an amazing experience. Of course, I was coming from California, not Switzerland, so that will be even more the fun for you. My game was the 13th game of the season in 1990, not the 12th, but it was an amazing comeback, down 20-10 in the 4th, we tied it late and won in overtime. With the win, we sealed our first playoff appearance in like 5 years. It was a Sunday night game and like 1am when it was over, but the place was rocking with Queen's "I Want it All" blaring through the speakers. There's nothing quite like the atmosphere of a live game where almost everyone is cheering for your team along with you. I went to Disney with my sister for the week in between, so I had to drive up the turnpike to Orlando that night...but it was all pure adrenaline and a great drive. She came down to Miami with me the following Sunday for the victory over Seattle.

I know the stadium has changed over the years, but for that first game, I sat in the 100 section and it's definitely louder and you feel a greater part of the action. Having said that, the fans are great everywhere you'll have a good time where ever you sit. My last game I've seen was in 2005 with my whole family now, kids 8 and 5 at the time, to see another great comeback win vs. the Bills. We sat way high up for that (4 seats is just crazy expensive, even in 2005), and since Buffalo scored TD's on like their first 3 possessions, a lot of people left...but those of us who stuck it out were in for a treat. I kept saying, I flew my family all the way out here and spent all this money and we're getting killed...but no way am I leaving. My daughter, who now attends college in Florida at UCF, remembers me in the game for hugging strangers all around me...and I'm not a person who does that. It was just that good of a moment.

So here's to you hugging strangers on December 3rd. Best of luck (Oh, and if it were me, I'd skip the American beer and stadium prices and stay sober to soak in every last moment, but since it's hard to stay sober watching this team, I'd probably just plan for an Uber)....

I don't know if it's possible but you should look into a stadium tour. I took the tour last year for the 49ers game and it was amazing!
