As long as Mike Tannenbaum is leading the front office, and as long as Adam Gase is coaching the team, they will not draft a guard that high, IMO.
Keep in mind Laremy Tunsil was drafted to be exactly what he is right now, the team's left tackle for the next decade. He wasn't drafted to play guard.

Looking at this a month later, really would love the Chubb pick. Continue to build that front seven. I do like a lot of the defensive tackles in the draft as well and would love to get a young, elite type next to Suh for a couple of years.
If I'm running the front office, I'm looking at Suh, Jones and Wake and starting to find replacements. Harris, in a sense, might be that guy for Wake. So they have maybe started on that path.
Price from Ohio State would be a nice #2 rounder as someone who can play guard or center and add a physical element.
Haven't seen the quarterback you listed, but I'm really impressed with Falk who is deadly accurate. Sounds like he's had some head injuries so that might drop him out of the first round. If he's there in R2 it would make a lot of sense for Miami. This season seems lost since Tannehill went down. Might not have been the case with a more skilled backup.

As far as QBs go, I don't know if he's slated to be a 1st round guy or a 2nd round guy but the guy I want is Baker Mayfield unless we get a really high pick.
And if we got a really high pick then I don't know if we'd be picking a QB because our terribad performance would be taken as affirmation of Tannehill's value to the team and so there would probably just be a re-doubling of our commitment to Ryan, if he's healthy. This would especially be reinforced as you see an Alex Smith out there performing the way he has.

The season is young, but one of the biggest disappointments is the play of Tunsil. I thought he would take off at his natural left tackle position, and he still might, but early on he has really struggled. I don't think many of us expected much from the interior of the line, but it's been worse than expected as well.
To your point, not sure how much Tannehill would have helped. I've always felt he could be a top 10 quarterback, although his numbers put him more in the middle of the pack. That's also without a lot of talent on the offensive line, however. So maybe he is better than we all thought.
The decision on quarterback will be an interesting one. It really comes down to how Gase feels about Tannehill. I always thought that was a big reason he chose Miami and the chance to help Tannehill to that next level.

The cigar is a cigar. Adam Gase really likes Ryan Tannehill and he really likes Jay Cutler. After the first game you could kind of see maybe a season happening where Gase feels conflicted at season's end about which of those two is his QB for 2018, and to be honest he might've come out on Cutler.
Now, I think we're in far different territory. Barring Cutler absolutely lighting up the field the remainder of the season, I would say the commitment to Tannehill is re-doubled.
But Gase will still be asked to pick a guy from the rookie class, I believe.

Incidentally Fanspeak is already putting out rankings and allowing people to do mock drafts.
And it's as ridiculous a you'd think it would be, this early on.
I was able to pick up DE Bradley Chubb, S Ronnie Harrison, TE Mark Andrews, CB Deatrick Nichols, LB Rashaan Evans, TE Dallas Goedert, and WR Cedrick Wilson all in one draft. LOL.

Chubb would be such a nice addition. Harrison as well. Obviously, you'd need 3-4 first rounds picks to make that happen.
If Miami is picking top 10, who do you think would be a target? I know it's kind of early still. Before Tankersley came on, I thought corner. Chubb or a DT?

The offense has been sh-t. I would look to that.
And right now the swirls are coalescing into a TE. Adam Gase had been on them about David Njoku. They went in a different direction, obviously. But Njoku currently has as many TDs as the ENTIRE offense. And he's done it on the Cleveland Browns of all teams, with a rookie Deshone Kizer and/or Kevin Hogan throwing the ball.
If we are picking too high to be comfortable using the asset on a TE then Gase will lobby a trade down and THEN getting the TE. But personally I don't think a pick that high would be too much to pay for Mark Andrews. I've considered him the most compelling TE in college football three years running.
I get the DE talk because it seems like when you're picking that high we as fans are conditioned to always look at DEs, as it's a high-value position.
But keep in mind, Andre Branch? Playing pretty well. Not regretting that contract right now, based on what I'm seeing. And Cameron Wake? Still out there. Still being Cameron Wake. If ANYONE would defy the laws of aging, it would be Wake. And then of course, the rookie Charles Harris. They're really happy with him. And it would surprise me not at all if they look to re-sign William Hayes because they've been extremely happy with what he's brought since they grabbed him.
I was one of the only people who had Njoku on my top 3 choices. Dude is a monster

I liked him better than O.J. Howard. Really nice weapon in the passing game and he fit what Adam Gase NEEDS in this offense based on his approach.

I was a fan of Njoku as well. Tight end definitely looks like a high priority, whether it's first round or later depends on who the team thinks could get to R2. The nine digit guy from Wisconsin maybe. Name escapes me.
Anyway, Gase should be able to build the team how he sees fit. If Andrews is the guy in round 1, I'm down with that. I think then an offensive lineman has to be the addition in round 2.

I do tend to agree with this, but it's such a glaring need and the team hasn't had success in the mid to late rounds finding guards. The jury is out on Asiata. Hopefully he pans out and that takes care of one spot. I think Pouncey is likely gone after this year and, if so, the team needs two interior linemen (assuming Asiata pans out).
I think if Miami ends up picking in the middle of round one a guard could be in play maybe Quenton Nelson from Notre Dame.
That said, I like your scenario of getting an elite tight end in the first or one of the top defensive players at any position. I think Billy Price could be a 2nd round target.

If it's a guy that they think replaces Pouncey at center, maybe. But they'd have to be absolutely convinced this guy is the next Larry Allen. And when does that happen?
