It may be better that he sits. We need to see what's behind him and let Carroo play a bit. It's not like we are going anywhere with Cutler dancing around like a punch drunk fighter back there. I'd rather he be healthy for NE.

He's only missed (until last week) 33 of 36 games.

But hey, let's make things up eh.

Is the regular season NFL game the only time Parker as a football player needs to be on a field?

Preseason, OTAs, even going back to his college career when he broke his foot originally, eventually leading to surgery....were those instances where he was available to play and be on the field? Not making anything up. I'm not trying to be down on the kid I think he has all the potential in the world but up to this point he's prone to injury. Whether the stats show the game as a start or not. A lot of those games he's played injured.

So yea, in the longterm discussion of his trajectory and our likelihood of being able to build a team around him...it's relevant.

hes soft, football iq deficient and had no idea what a weight room was prior to becoming a pro. should have never drafted him but now we are stuck and prob taking the 5th year option. I want the guy to be good, he just isn't.

The put a sticker on Parker's helmet this week:

Let's see how the season plays out.

I got on his case last year for nursing the hammy.

Sometimes it is just bad luck. Parker tried to do more with the ball than he usually does. (He isnt a shifty east-west guy like Landry)

Cutler developed some chemistry with him in preseason, and as shitty as Cutler has been playing, if things turn around Parker should produce.

If he goes down again this year I'll probably consider writing him off, but for now I'm in his corner.

The bad thing about ankles is that they never really heal to 100%. Does anyone know if this is the same foot he injured in college?

It is.

And I don't think anyone should write him off by any means, we aren't making a decision on this kid today, tomorrow...or even this year. But you can't stick your head in the sand as an organization when the time does come when we have to make a decision.

I've had every grade ankle sprain. Grade 1, grade 2 and grade 3. Grade 1 four times. Grade 2 twice. Grade 3 once. Ankle sprains heal 100 % as long as you don't roll them again in a short period after the sprain. I'm sure he didn't have a grade 3 which is a basketball player sprain. 3 being the worse he'd be out 6-8 weeks up to 12. So assuming he had a number 2 he may be out 1 more week and play thursday night at baltimore..If he had a grade 1 he'll play sunday.

The positive I can take away from this is that Miami might be able to sign him at a discount because of his unreliability. If he continues his career feeling like he has something to prove to the team he might be willing to take such a discount. And hopefully he continues to improve at staying healthy. Guys a beast on the field when he plays. Reminds me of DT.

Pay Landry.
