sea of hands

for some reason i saved the miami herald the next day, will never forget the banner, the dream is over, to me it was a epic disaster. Im pretty sure i punched a hole in my mothers bathroom door, that didn't end well

Thanks for posting this. This is on my "must watch" list for tonight. These NFL Films presentations are always awesome.

I cried like a little girl, end of a dynasty....And to have "Snake" cut our heart out,one of my favorite Bama boys, made it even more cruel.

The Oakland fans went nuts. As Miami was walking off the field, one dumbass fan belted Nick Buoniconti in the gut. A questionable move at best, but downright stupid doing it with Manny right behind Nick. Manny flattened the guy.

I’m sure the guy tells whoever will listen about the time he punched Nick Buoniconti in the gutpack. I’m equally sure he forgets to tell about Manny paying him back.

they show that in the nfl films video i posted. fernandez might get arrested if that happened today!

watching old highlights and interviews manny fernandez definitely would have been my favorite dolphin if i was alive during that time. he didnt **** around lol

I was extremely upset, as I was still young and ignorant enough to believe Miami could not lose to anyone in the playoffs after those two superbowls, and three straight appearances.

Friends (Raider, and Steeler fans) gave me such a hard time that year.

I was also born in '79, and one of my best friends is a die-hard Raider fan... We always talk about how if we were alive to have seen this game, we may have killed each other lol.

Keuchenberg said it best, when he said. “It felt like something special was coming to an end” and is exactly how I felt at the end of that game. I was lost. Miami never recovered after that. Neither did I. I thought Marino and Shula would have done more in the years Marino was here, but Shula never got him the defense and running game those Super Bowl winning Dolphins had in abundance. I often wondered how good both teams would have been with some of those players on each others teams.

if marino had csonka and that defense we would have been in the 80s what the 49ers were.

It was a huge game between the big 3 of the AFC in the 70's....(Dolphins, Steelers, Raiders)....it ended our dynasty and was also the last game of Csonka, Kiick, Warfield before the WFL defection (Csonka returned in 1979).

It was a big blow and I remember it well as a 12 year old...the WFL thing hurt the team that year I think.

I still think den herder had Stablers knees down when he throws that.

I remember. I was 9. Hid in a closet for the last play and peeked out to see the horrible result. Proceeded to fall to my knees and bawl.

That game was before my time......

Fernandez was such an underrated player. Not a Hall of Famer, but had one of the best super bowls ever with 17 tackles against the Washington Redskins in Super Bowl VII.
