Every game I watch him play, he shows a very good arm and arguably has played better than most QBs who are regarded as the first rounders.

The biggest knock on him I’ve seen talked about is that he’s too skinny, which I can see. Other than that, I see a QB with the ability to develop into a quality starter yet most sites have him ranked as a late round pick.

Can someone with a little more insight explain why nobody is considering him as a good prospect?

I can't speak for how or why most sites feel about him, but I've had him as one of my top 3 Senior quarterbacks since May. I grade him as a mid-rounder.

Ferguson is a very streaky player...when he gets hot he has games like he had against UCLA and UCONN where he throws 6 or 7 touchdowns and avoids making mistakes and turning the football over.

Then he'll turn around and have games like he did against UCF or UL-Monroe where he couldn't hit water if he fell out of a boat, and doesn't avoid throwing it to the other team.

He has all the physical tools that you look for in projecting a starting caliber QB at the next level. He can move, he's athletic, has good size and plenty of arm. He just needs work, and needs to mature a little more between the ears.

He threw a bad pick against Houston last night. He has to see that safety and either hit the route sooner or wait until the receiver clears his zone.

I think there's also a little bit of trepidation because of how Paxton Lynch has struggled to translate to the next level. Ferguson isn't as good of a prospect as Paxton Lynch was coming out of Memphis in a similar offense, despite the statistics perhaps leading you in an opposite direction. I watched Lynch throw a 7 TD game for Memphis and didn't even have to complete 10 passes.

Bottom line for Ferguson is I'd like to see more consistency, but I definitely like him towards the top of this group of Senior quarterbacks. He could end up better than Paxton Lynch...you just never know.

I see him as a better prospect then Paxton Lynch. But he tends to throw without setting up too often. With the right coaching at the next level, that can be corrected

Thank you for that write up. Pretty spot on with my analysis as well, although I’ll admit I haven’t watched every game
