Dolphins will need a backup QB

Would Kaep even sign with a team to be a backup for 3 games or so and hurt his case? He opted out of good money in San Fran to be a FA. I heard he turned down backup roles in the offseason.

Next year we need to go ahead and sign Kirk Cousins and drop all our dead weight. He has the right attitude to lead this team.

If we're going with a runner posing as a QB, I'd rather we just call it what it is ... the Wildcat. Wasn't Jarvis Landry our emergency QB? I'd rather see him run it, or maybe Damien Williams.
Gray is our emergency QB since he played QB at Minnesota.

Posters are jumping through a lot of hoops in this thread. Emergency QB, Doughty, Fales. Sure, all great options vs a QB who performed well last year. Lol so transparent.

You're out of your mind if you think Jarvis or Damien could perform 1/10th of the way Kap did against us last year. Why the **** would you risk Jarvis like that while also killing half of what's basically our receiving core.

I bet we bring up Doughty, too many resources invested in the QB position already...

Whoever it is will end up being a part-time gig only. Maybe 3 weeks of work before being cut. I don't see Kaep doing that deal. Fales is the most likely with TJ Yates as the other option.

The smart move for everyone is to sign Kap for league minimum - that gets the league off the hook on the collusion charge, Kap can not afford to refuse it or it would destroy his collusion case, we get an experienced backup with some talent, and we might even get some appreciation from the league for solving an awkward problem.

Let me get this straight...

The guy walks out of a solid starter's contract because he wants more money, and you think he'll sign here to be a backup for the league minimum???

Good luck!

Yeah, Vick wouldn't offend anyone. He didn't take a knee. Just went to prison for killing dogs. No big deal.........;)
Dog fighting is illegal etc and he paid for his crime, if he is still decent which I doubt I would give him a chance.

Bringing in a guy for a few weeks is silly. IMO. It will take that long for him to learn the offense. If he needs to play, we go back to the horrible playcalling that we all hated in the first 4 weeks we played. It's Jay Cutler 2.0. Stick with Gray or Doughty, or bring back Fales. If Moore goes down, will it really matter who is back there? The only way you bring in a guy like Kaep is if Cutler is going to miss significant time.

My vote goes to Holdin Mahgroin, cuz the feeling will be mutual.
I always liked his brother Pat Mahgroin. Then there’s also Hugh Jass, but I think he was just signed by the Cleveland Steamers.

Why waste anything on Cousins, that guy is straight garbage. This team already has Tannehill for next year. It’d be more wise to keep Tannehill and draft a QB next year.
