On Sunday, even though Cutler played fairly well and led Miami to two touchdown drives in a half of play, there seemed to a palpable change when Moore came into the game. Moore is a confident guy, but not a particularly inspirational one. When Cutler got lit up on a hit as he released a pass two minutes into the third quarter, all Moore said in the huddle was, “Hey, we’ll be fine. We’re gonna be good. Let’s go.”

Not much to say here man......Moore is a confident guy and isn't afraid to put the ball in the air. The one knock I have on him is, he's not aggressive on wanting to play or be a starter in this league. He seems content to be a backup making plenty of money and just chilling. If he felt bad about bringing in Cutler, why didn't he voice that concern and beat him out in training camp? unless he wasn't given that opportunity.

Honestly, he never would beat out Jay in camp because Gase went to Ross and said he wanted to give 10 million dollars to Cutler. That money says you start that guy. Gase had to go get Cutler and show him the money. Some theorized (Or maybe it was factual) that Jay said he wasn't coming here unless was named the starter.
 
Look I am the biggest Cutler critic on the site, but it looked and felt like a different, faster, more energetic and much better O from the second Moore walked onto the field - we must all have felt that?

Gase declared Cutler the starter the moment he signed for a kings ransom

No doubt I felt it! It was like a miracle that suddenly we were getting the ball snapped with 10+ seconds left on the play clock instead of the 1-2 seconds left with Cutler!

The 1-2 seconds of course doesn't help our offense because it allows the defense to t off on us and it's not like Cutler was making amazing adjustments anyway.
 
Moore is making a good salary and his family is comfortable in Miami. I'm sure if someone offered him double with a starting job he would have looked into it. Nothing wrong with that IMO. He can retire and live comfortably without having taken a beating.

And its not just us. Reading through various articles last night, im not sure ive ever seen the word "Palpable" used so often.

We don't know how Moore was feeling when this all went down during the summer.

Based on what you're saying, I don't think that's the case about Moore. Yesterday, when they interviewed Moore right after the game, the line of questioning asked by the field reporter was pretty much on that topic (The signing of Cutler). Moore was very professional and said the right thing. BUT...from how he answered the question, and his demeanor, I felt he was not happy with Coach Gase's decision to sign Cutler. His mouth was saying one thing, but his demeanor and facial expression may be believe there was more to it.

Also, If you're #2 is content about being the backup, than you shouldn't want him on your roster. #2s are supposed to push your #1, they are supposed to learn off each other. Moore is very competitive, you are wrong if you think he does not want to be on the field playing. Moore is a team player who let the front office do their job although he disagreed. I believe he felt slighted after helping the team last season and not given consideration to start after Tannehill went down in August but wasn't going to rock the boat.

It did but to be fair, the game situation also dictated they push the pace down the field. Under 12 minutes to go and down 14 points kind of necessitates pushing the play. One thing Moore seems more willing to do is put the ball in a spot to give his receiver a chance to make a play on it even if the defender is close. The other thing is he doesn't backpeddle 10 steps and throw off his back foot. lol.
 
It seemed to me that the offense opened up the play book when Moore stepped on the field. We need to sign a #2 QB asap in case Moore goes down.

Not sure that I fully buy into this statement. The Matt Moore I saw in the game was fired up big time. He was yelling and showed high emotion protesting one of the penalties and motivating his teammates. It was good to see. Not sure how that would be considered " not inspirational".

Exactly my point...so Moore wasn't given a fair chance is what you're saying.

Your point is taken...All I'm saying is that Moore comes across as a real content kinda guy, not willing to rock the boat or say the wrong thing. I would have been raising hell if the coach was bringing in another QB, I would have probably said something during training camp to one of the reporters as well, diplomatically of course.
 
Ill say this: I like Moore, I really do but we need to be sober here.

Moore was not game planned for. The jets planned for Cutler, watched tape on cutler, was expecting cutler and the way he played.

When Moore came on the field they immediately got a team that they didn't plan for.

I have seen it to many times before in the past. Backup QB comes in and lights the place up just to get Killed the following few games when teams are game planning for him.
