Does it matter who is qb, with this defense?

The problem there, however, is that neither does Josh McCown excel at passer rating on a typical basis. Against the Dolphins this year, however, he's had passer ratings of 108.4 and 126.3.

So I think you have to wonder who else the Dolphins pass defense may be made to look all-world, even when that isn't their norm.
True but I believe our stout run defense (top 5) has attributed to the boost in opposing qb rating.

It matters, but not as much as the drop off was from losing Tannehill.

Moore IMO makes us Dolphins version 2a.

Cutler version 2b.

Neither are particularly dominant at the position, and both will make you want to slam your head on your coffee table at times....but Cutler just looks sick of playing football for a team that can’t keep him untouched in the pocket.

Sorry but Tannehill is far from dominant at his position and to be honest Moore was behind Tannehill and Cutler when he took their job because he wasnt practicing with the first team. And for that reason alone he looked awsome when he started. I dont think there is a significant drop of from Tannehill/Moore. What I trully believe is Moore is the better QB between Cutler and him. Tannehills strenghts are his feet and athletics, Cutler is experience, but Moore just seems to read the field faster than any of them. In a hurry up offense, that is the one you would choose!

One thing I'll be curious to see is if the D can continue playing this way if the O starts to put up points.

So often, when a team starts scoring, the D lets up its intensity some. That can't happen with us.
I would much rather having the O putting up points. That means the D is not on the field as much and not getting tired.

I never said Tannehill was dominant at the position either.....so,

I don't know quite what you're saying here....but there are plenty of reasons Moore is behind Cutler and Tannehill on the depth chart, saying it's just because of him not practicing with the first team is a bit narrow-minded. If you're saying Moore is the better QB between Moore and Cutler, then yes, at this point based on what I've seen from 2017 Cutler I would agree with you. If you're saying Moore is better than Tannehill, then I regret even typing this post out to respond to that statement.

Last I checked, Tank was part of our defense. And if a QB like Brady knows he is the weak link and scores 35 points against Tank, does that not count towards our defense? I'm not arguing anything other than the fact that our defense has holes (Tank is one right now). The OP basically said the QB doesn't matter if you have an elite defense. I can agree with that to an extent, but we don't have one. Our defense has been playing well of late, but they are not "special".

He was fine the rest of the game. Of course a rookie will get beat its not a big deal or a sign of if our defense is bad or not. But you're right this defense isn't special but it has 6 or 7 special players if you wanna throw in Harris and that's what makes them good.

Suh
Wake
Harris
Hayes
Alonso
Timmons
Jones

Wait till TJ gets back and we'll see. Not to mention missing Raekwon and Lippett this defense could really develop into something elite moving forward
