Miami Dolphins’ Xavien Howard ranked 115th-best CB by Pro Football Focus

PFF is a joke, and I want to see the play where Howard a boundary corner was responsible for giving up a TD vs a TE. All of this aside though with Howard everyone, and I mean Everyone is playing worse this year than last and that includes guys like wake, suh, Alonso, landry, tunsil, Ajayi when he was here etc. So how may I ask is an entire roster all of a sudden worse than they were a year ago? But yes Gase gets a pass because of RT being out smh

If Miami had any semblance of an offense the recent defensive issues would not be as glaring.

I am no fan of the lack of effort that defense showed after going down 17-7. That was completely unprofessional and they get paid handsomely to be professional. They literally "quit" in the second half.

That said, the offense has inspired no hope and I have seen this defense "try" with no hope far too often this year.

It is just a lethal situation and how Gase handles these last 7 games will ultimately serve as my opinion on him going forward.

Because make no mistake about it, if the last seven games go like the previous 3 we just saw, he doesn't deserve to come back. His offense is dreadful, his $10 million QB is terrible and his coaching decisions are poor.

PFF is a highly respected professional analytics organization with vast resources and a multifaceted perspective on grades. Posts like this are the real joke; and the TE was ED Dickson and anybody who watched the game saw the play and realized what happened.

Well watching them from the untrained eye Tank looks better. He gets his hands on more balls, that sounds wrong, and although I thought I read he was an unwilling tackler he's at least as good if not better than Howard.

Weather or not you respect PFF is up to the individual. What outlawd2u said about all of the players performing worse than last year is right on the money. Can we name anybody playing better?

Can’t think of anyone and it seem players like Howard and Branch have regressed- no improvemnet from Phillips a Fede etc or any of the younger guys.

On the offense side of the ball maybe Drake? They may have found a player is Davis for the line.

A.R.-if all we can come up with is Davis we're in massive trouble. Drake, of course, he's playing better than getting no snaps. All the main guys that we counted on have failed in a big way. It really has been all downhill since Tannehill went down.

I like X and that is a rough stat to throw out there...but lets not sit here and say that everyone else at their position is playing at an elite or even great level...cause quite frankly, no one is on D...or O...how many sacks does our D line have? how many picks in the secondary? aside from Timmons, our LBs havent been great by any means, more so Kiko than Rey....when the O cant move the ball and is always facing 3rd and 6/7+ yards, that is gonna make the D look even worse...also, keep in mind a lack of pass rush makes a CBs job that much harder...the reason Sherman and the Hawks secondary can ball like they can has a lot to do with their front 7 pressuring the QB....our D has been pretty shitty at that

Sorry I didn't know you had such strong feelings towards PFF, didn't mean to offend you. Ive seen some pretty wacky rankings from them though including some that were in favor of our players who clearly sucked, and vice versa. I dont claim to be some expert that knows more than everyone else but my eyes tell me that Howard isn't the next to worst cb in the league. He did a very good job in man single man coverage vs Julio Jones, had one game where the ball never even went in his direction, and a couple of others where he didn't allow much. Has he struggled at times? Absolutely! But he isn't the worst or one of the worst in the league. We're not exactly getting roasted constantly on the outsides, but we are getting killed by TE's, RB's out of the backfield, and now gashed vs the run. I'd like to see what the stats are on us defending TE's up the seam because I can only recall a couple of passes that were thrown in that variety that were incomplete. Again... cb shouldn't be our main concern on D

Last couple week no pass rush. No one can cover under those circumstances. That said, some were too quick to anoint him the next Sam Madison after playing just a few games last year.

Dang that's bad lol. I mean I knew he sucked cause I watched him last year and also he's a Dolphins draft pick so he's destined to fail.

The guys done nothing to impress me but people on here act like he's solid when in reality he gets torched regularly
