Dolphins are a joke, and it hurts!

Same can be said for the Bills and the Jets as well.

The Patriots have benefited so much from being in this perpetually laughable division. They'd have a fraction of their success in the AFC North or NFC East.

I've stopped excusing Gase. Eventually you have to look at everything that has happened and realize this team does not respect its coach.

You can almost start to see a bunker mentality has started to take over the team. Gase, Cutler, Thomas, Suh, Wake and few other players are exempt from true accountability and the rest of the players are defying, ignoring and stubbornly marching to the beat of their own drum.

For each player cut, what is the underlying theme? Dissension? Refusing to follow Gase's leadership? Maxwell freelanced. Ajayi ignored assignments. Now, Landry is focused on TD dances? Players not executing. Players doing there own thing. Coaches snorting powder. Player skipping out on a $40 tab?

I'm not hearing cohesion here. I'm not hearing players aligning behind their coach. I'm not hearing players building a team environment.

I'm hearing blame; calling out players in press conferences. I'm hearing self-criticism on the worst offense in the league and nothing being changed week in and week out. I'm seeing overpaid inept players.

I think the message has fallen on deaf ears. I think the majority of the players are tired of hearing criticisms cast upon everyone but only intended for the non-Gase affiliated.

He's trying cutting players every year. He's tried trading a Pro Bowl player. He's fired a coach. Nothing has changed the course of this ship.

Face it, Gase has lost this team. At some point when you have to fire everyone to escape blaming the coach, then it is time to blame the coach.

These players don't respect this coach. This organization is inept at free agency and drafting. It doesn't matter who/what Gase could become, he's already failed here.

Next man up.

So this means we are dysfunctional? Have you seen the criminal activity on other teams? I applaud the team for ousting these shitheads.

It amuses me how many fans here think that this is the only organization that does through this type of stuff on a regular basis.

We are in complete rebuild mode with question on both sides of the ball and with the coaching staff. A few things:

1). I hope Gase is the answer. The play calling has been unimpressive, but a lot of that is because the offensive line is just so bad. There are times the play call may be fantastic, but you wouldn't know it because the execution is bad. I'm not sure what to think of Gase. He definitely overachieved last year and, to and extent, this year as well. But, the team looks so bad and some of that has to be on the coaching. It was a red flag to me when he admitted players didn't know the playbook. In year two, how can that even be possible?

2). I hate seeing Suh consistently double-teamed and no one else stepping up to make plays. If he's doubled, someone else has to step up. The defensive line isn't bad, but it's a level below what fans think it is.

3). I'd prioritize fixing the offensive line, but I'd also look at getting a difference maker on the defensive line if one is there early in the draft.

4). Not sold on X. Howard. Hoping his lack of ball awareness is coachable. I realize the lack of pass rush hasn't helped the secondary either.

Next year, with Tannehill back, is really the year to truly grade Gase. There needs to be a big, significant improvement in the offense. If that's his forte, let him get his players in here and make it happen. Again, I hope Gase is the answer because if you've got a good coach and a good quarterback you can win big in this league.

With this DT class, I wouldn't be surprised if we draft another DT for the second straight year. Godchaux got handled in the Carolina game.

For me, it has nothing to do with other organizations. This is strictly about us. But since we are on the topic, let's compare us to other organizations that DO survive these tragedies. And let's call these organizations "successful".

They have 1) effective leadership based on a unified vision from the owner to the HC, 2) they have a proven record of success that reinforces the message being delivered (playoffs, division championships, conference championships, SB appearances and, in some cases, victories), 3) track record of acquiring talent that effective produces year in and year out, 4) veteran leaders who have "been there, done that" delivering the team message, 5) established system of player development that cultivates AND keeps home grown talent, 6) remain relatively out of the NFL spotlight in terms of player misconduct and player dissension, 7) good relationship with their own history, and so on and so forth.

Of which, we have NONE. We do not have a winning culture. We do not have proven leaders who have won. We do not have a unified vision of success. We do not have a good track record of developing and retaining our own talent. We do not have a great record of acquiring good talent. In fact, we overpay free agents for accomplishments with their last team and under perform with us. We are constantly in the NFL spotlight for some form of player misconduct, player dissension or otherwise negative behavior. And we have no connection to our own past. We do not have anyone in the building that connects us to our winning history. We run everyone out of town.

Other organizations do encounter some of the issues we encounter. But not with the frequency, publicity and ineptitude of applying corrective actions to build and defend a culture of winning, respect and pride.

The inmates run the institution.

You're correct, other organizations experience these issues. But successful ones do not let them derail the organization.

if and when they win another game i'm going to be supportive and wear my dolphins sweatshirt to the store or something. hopefully no one notices.

Can’t say I disagree with tbomb, but at the same time, ross hasn’t made bad decisions since hiring gase.
O.K. Name the top five things Ross has done right concerning the team itself; not any of this,"he put up so much of his own money for stadium improvements crap."
Everything he has done, he has done to increase the value of his franchise. Ross is the cancer, not Jay Cutler. Dolphin fans awake!!! We need to run this football idiot out of town.

The only team he cares about is Michigan. Ross is a New Yorker, and a closet Jets fan. He is an abomination in South Florida. Tarred and feathered and run out of town on a rail is what this," Father of all disgrace," deserves.

"The only team he cares about is Michigan."

Who's free falling fast and will probably drop out of the top 25.

Forester was a coach with 8 organization before Miami and Maluaga an emergency signing because of our 2nd rd pick having a freak injury. The roster this year starting with Cutler was the emergency reserve and people keep acting like it was always Plan A.

It hurts to write this but I gotta get it out somewhere. I don't think it's an exaggeration. I don’t even really want to think about all the details anymore. The Dolphins organization has just become an absolute disgrace! All the old Alumni and legends that helped create the legacy must be disgusted by now. I don’t know who is to blame anymore! But the bottom line is that the Dolphins have been an absolute DYSFUNCTIONAL CIRCUS OF CLOWNS now for 20 years running. Doesn’t seem to matter who the owner is, who the coach is, who the GM is, who the players are… They just can’t get it together.
They need to change the complexity of this team, I agree. They need to start at qb

Reality.

I’m not flinching in my support of Coach Gase.

But, Foerster, this thing with Rey.....horrible optics. After awhile, it’s not a coincidence anymore. Gase is young and ought to look in the mirror on the culture and “institutional control” with the football operations.

The really good Dolphins teams were always full of high quality men who were winners and would be winners at anything. Buonticonti, Fernandez, on and on. Even the killer B’s. Winners. We know the Cowboys teams had their White House and Ray Lewis had a checkered past. But they still knew how to be focused and determined to win and got themselves ready to win on Sunday’s.

Whether it’s free Hernandez tee shirts, or getting arrested or having a coach on coke, Gase should be embarrassed for what’s going on around him.

What would it take to get you to change your support of Gase?
