This can evolve toward a more general discussion about next week's game.

I thought it was noteworthy however that the opening point spread for the Dolphins' game next week is Patriots -17.

3,328 regular-season games were played in the NFL between 2004 and 2016.

14 of them involved a point spread of 17 or more.

A point spread of this nature happens a mere 0.4% of the time in the NFL. You have to play a thousand games to see four of them.

All 14 of the underdogs involved lost the game.

Vegas is well aware this isn't a true 4-6 team. It's much worse.
 
I'm picturing a curb stomping like the infamous Randy Moss game... They will destroy us. Without mercy.
 
I don't think I could stomach watching next weeks game.
 
regardless of how high the spread is, most of the money will be on NE. BTW, next time we're on 2nd and 1 we need to throw it 3 times in a row

It’s really gonna suck. It’s not a trap game for NE, it’s not one of those, “oh it’s divisonal it’ll be close” games. It’s gonna be a bloodbath and yet another embarrassment of a game. Easy money is for NE to cover.
