Miami’s Biggest Problem is Money $$$

and yet she was the problem to many here. This board cracks me up with the over reaction

Yeah, never understood the hate. Also, the insinuations that she held some sort of Svengali like power. She was one of the few execs doing a good job at that time. I don't remember many, or any, stupid contracts or cap issues.

Honestly, must be hard to be a female in Pro Football. I think a lot of the hate was simply about her gender. If she were a guy I bet posters here would have been calling for her promotion to GM.

I think Miami has to can wake. Popular be damned. He’s not really producing anymore.

I hate to agree, but it sure feels like opponents have figured out that all they need to do is double team Suh. There's no one that's able to step up with single blocks and that includes Wake. He's still good, but he isn't as productive and seems to be driven out of plays more easily.

Besides fixing the offensive line, Miami needs to find a dominant defensive lineman IMO.

As to contracts the Branch deal looks pretty bad right now, especially considering what $9 million could have bought on the offensive line.

The good teams know how to get rid of former stud players sooner rather than later.New England has done it so many times. It’s time for Miami to do the same with wake unfortunately. The branch deal is awful and the kiko one is even worse.

Tannenbum and Grier are our biggest problem, poor money management, drafting, and acquisition players compound like the current stock market returns when these buffoons are in charge.
why we would choose a gm from a department that had did a horrible job drafting is beyond me.

Barry Jackson had a blog on this the other day. Restructure Suh and possibly T-hill and three no brainer cuts and we're 50mm under.

Because we knew none of these other executives would want to come here and be Tannenbaum's puppet which is why when Hickey was let go we didn't interview a single person for the GM opening, instead we just bumped up Grier up, he certainly wasn't going to turn down a promotion, but he isn't really even the GM, he just has the title.

Proving yet again the real problem with this team starts with Tannenbaum. Its a shame he will never get fired, even though most fin fans knew he would be awful.
I believe TannenBum is a NFL guy who cannot be removed or replaced until the NFL says so...

I am not sure if he was playing us on his last interview, but I wouldn't mind seeing Nick Caserio take over. No expert here, but from the outside it looks like they at least know how to plan. Not saying I think the Patsies draft the best, but they know how to single out FA's that actually help their team and aren't afraid to use resources to get them. I know some would balk about giving away draft picks, but in the end gaining a productive player is all that matters, isn't it? I know there are other guys out there that some have mentioned before like Eliot Wolf, but I think they also said the Packers aren't letting him interview with anyone. I think it's time T-bumb and Grier hit the bricks. I am not advocating change for changes sake, but if we can upgrade we really need to do it.

It makes perfect sense to me. Tannenbaum knows he doesn't deserve a job in the NFL, so he prepared the fall-guy ahead of time. "Look Ross, it's not my fault, let me pick a new GM and we'll definitely fix things!"

Dawn Aponte was here from 2010 to 2016, as the capologist, right?

Pretty sure we had some bad contracts in that timespan too, unless we are blaming all those deals on Ireland?

Not trying to hate on her.

Miami has a history of overpaying for players they want, that's not all bad until you miss on the player you just overpaid for. I like the aggressiveness of the owner who has no qualms about opening up his check book, but you have to draft wisely and select carefully the FAs you are pursuing.

who pays interior defensive linemen $119m? only Miami. who overpays more marginal players than anyone? only Miami. who gives chunck millions to retired-retread-refuse slinging quarterbacks? i ain’t gotta say it.

The Dolphins. we do stupid great.
