That was a safety

Poor officiating is rampant among the entire league. Despite the bad calls we had many chances to overcome them and couldn't. Fasano call still couldn't score with 4 chances available. The non safety? Still couldn't score despite excellent field position on punt, 4 and out.

Yeah anyone , other than the idiot refs and the moron who made the BS confirmation in New York , could see than Fitzpatrick was knocked back completely into the endzone by his own teammate and then tackled by the Dolphins with his whole body including the entire ball completely in the endzone. No question that was a safety.
Heck, didn’t the guy from NY say it should’ve been a safety?

Also nice call ForksPhin, i had totally forgot about that play

This guy covers football for a living. I wish I could be that bad at my job and remain employed. I guess clicking on his links makes me part of the problem, but I'm a masochist.

That would've been easier with an extra time out and proper clock stoppages by the refs...

Hal Habib of the Palm Beach Post reported Tuesday that the NFL has determined officials cost the Dolphins a safety when Jordan Phillipstackled Bucs quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick in the end zone Sunday. Tony Corrente’s crew ruled Fitzpatrick’s forward progress carried him out of the end zone before Phillips tackled him in the end zone.

The comments on the link make for a good read. People are fed up with bad officiating.

Funny that no one is showing it. Just like that illegal batting play on Vernon vs New England a few years back. No one talked about it or showed it in the highlights.

Anyone have a video? I'm trying to show a friend. The highlight videos convenintly skip this play. Hmmmmm.....

Was discussed and vid clips posted in another thread:

I have to say the nfl does hold the referee accoutable they take note of any phantom pass interference calls holding penalties etc that have been missed and allocate those refs to the next new England patriots games lol

So, based on the explanation of forward progress that the refs tried to give, wouldn't forward progress always be where the qb takes the snap? Wouldn't "forward progress" eliminate all sacks?

Here are some of the awful things I have seen today:

- "Pass interference" on Fasano in the end zone while the DB was literally hugging his knees and trying to drag him down.

- "Defensive holding" on Suh on a damn running play, when the Bucs clearly false started on the play, too.

- The safety.

- Mike Evans clearly pushes off on Xavien Howard when the Bucs are trying to get off their goal line. Fasano was OPI but that wasn't? Come on.

I won't even count the very ticky tack hold on Bushrod that wiped out a 50 yard pass play, because it was technically holding. Even if it was holding that never gets called.
It is not the reason why we lost.

Trying to recover a fumble after Jimmy wilson blindsided Brady into next week. A bunch of fat guys diving for the ball and we get a “penalty”. Unbelievable. Instead of like 3rd and 40 they get a 1st and 10 after getting sacked and fumbling - on our 10 yard line or something.
