Officials blew call by not crediting Miami Dolphins’ Jordan Phillips with a safety

This is going to be one of those calls like the Saints game years ago. People are going to use it as some sort of tether to argue their point that we were one win away from the playoffs. Let's ignore that we had the ball on their 40 after the punt and couldn't get a touchdown
That Steelers game reffed by 3 Pittsburgh refs

I thought the whole idea of having the league office chime in while the on field refs review the play was to fix bad calls like this. I' not buying the league' answer that forward process isn't reviewable. The announcers said placement of the ball is reviewable to determine first downs and scores.

Well, we may have had on their 40 after the free kick and 2 points as well. Who knows? Also, down 5 vs 8 we may have kicked a FG in that situation to get within 2. And we would have kept our 3rd time out. It was a huge factor in the outcome of the game.

The article says the "forward progress" wasnt reviewable, so I took that as they only could go by whether or not the ball ever got out of the endzone. Makes no sense really.
Right so even if we buy that crap, it’s clear the ball never even came close to getting out of the EZ.

If there are stipulations why have replay at all? Isn't trying to get the call or what actually happened on the play correct the whole point? This is beyond stupid.

Lost out on 2 points and a timeout.

I mean we are going nowhere but I fully believe we win that game if we get the safety there. Momentum busting call, with clear video evidence and they still botch it.

That game was fixed and somebody should be held accountable . . . But they won't be.

All Miami had to do was stop Tampa Bay on their last drive and they could've had a chance. But Fitzpatrick and the boys drove for the win at the end. Typical Miami bullshit.

They don't give a F, most referees just try to make themselves look good, which is why they hate reversing calls. Lotta bad referees out there, it's just a job to most, not something to lose sleep over.

Burke is a tool, all he had to do was bring a little heat but he's a lousy DC and that is on Gase.

EXACTLY, he stopped doing what was actually working ... they always play scared

For real, they think our front 4 is so great we can just drop 7 and be fine. Maybe if Wake was 5 years younger, but that's not the case anymore. Burke has to be more creative with his nickle packages, but he isn't because he sucks and is inexperienced. If only we had a DC like Dean Pees, this team would be so much more legit.

Even worse, it's a part time job for most of them. These guys have other jobs that they do 40 hours a week. They referee to pay the Xmas bills.
