Bring in OC Mike McCoy to Replace Clyde Christensen?

Was there someone better that was not going to divide the locker-room, and single handedly forcing the Dolphins further back to being a more consistent playoff team?

At least with Cutler, they worked together before, and it was a successful one. Granted, it was a failure he did not expect, but unfortunately he had no better options.

Moore. It's rare to win with the backup. It depends on the team around the QB, Minnesota for example.

I agree with that, but then who do you have behind him, If/when he fails.

Gase went to the only option he thought he had to maybe save the season. He was a victim of his own success with Cutler.

Well, considering all the problems that have nagged the Dolphins, and the team is still at end of games more times then not fighting to win or barely lose close game...it sure does seem like he is.
I was actually just making a "Hayden" reference, I thought more would catch that...

Sorry RTS, totally missed that...LOL

Gase wants to call his own plays. McCoy isn't coming.

No one. If the third stringer has to play who cares at that point?

It doesn’t matter who our OC is, Gase is calling the plays and will continue to call the plays until he is fired.

OC? Oh so that's what Christensen does.

McCoy makes perfect sense. Only reason he was fired is because he ha crappy qb's. So get to South Beach where we have Cutler and Moore and we are set!!

The guy who couldn't get it done without Elway at QB?
Also the coach who drafted Cutler?

you guys are too much.

Mike Shanahan had his issues as a head coach, especially later in his tenure when he struggled to build a complete team, but he was essentially fired because he didn't win another Super Bowl and he clashed a bit with ownership, not because he was a bad coach. Look at the struggles Jay Gruden is having in Washington, and then consider that Jay Gruden has a better situation than Shanahan did (personnel-wise) when he was there.

That you mention Elway is downright funny. Look at Elway's career stat line before and after Mike Shanahan became his coach. Look at the stat line of every QB who has ever played for Mike Shanahan. There's no magic there, he gives them a great running game (nobody does it better than Shanahan and Kubiak) and lets them work off of play action with a strong boot game and lots of vertical shots. Ryan Tannehill, with his skill set, would probably roll up something outrageous like 9 YPA and a 7% touchdown rate under Shanahan. We'd win football games, I promise you that.

Mike Shanahan is a great offensive coach and has underrated team management skills. He gets a bum rap these days because of what happened in Washington, where a notoriously bad and meddling owner (Dan Snyder) and a bum who is no longer in the NFL (Robert Griffin) essentially conspired to undermine him at every turn. If his heart is still in the game, he's the only coach I'd endorse firing Gase to go get.
