Falcons waive former LSU 2nd round pick CB Jalen Collins

Collins hasn't lived up to his talent, but he played well for Atlanta when Trufant went down last year. He's long, fast, well-built, and he's agile.

His instincts and ball skills don't match his athleticism, so he can be a little frustrating, but he still has starter/fringe Pro Bowl upside. No idea what kind of person he is, but it's obviously a bad sign that Atlanta parted ways with him.

Don't we have an open roster spot? Take a chance. He's certainly worth it talent wise. I think he has some FS potential.

My first instinct is to say go for it but I then immediately wonder who on the team would be the one to take him under his wing and help him get his head straight. Sure there is the LSU connection like a couple of you have already mentioned but is that strong enough? It sure as you-know-what didn't help Maualuga.

He's coming off his 10 game suspension and probably not in shape or ready to play this year. That would be my guess

Grimes 2.0? I'd check him out maybe the LSU boys on the Fins can get his mind straight.

We could only hope if we were to take a shot on him, but, Is Collins married, and if so, is his wife crazy as ****?

Yeah, That's probably it, but it's fine. Season is over. He's only 24 years old. Sign him and get him game fit even if it's not until next season.

Maualuga went to USC

I,'ll definitely take a look. Howard sucks. Let Collins give competition with Lippet next year

He'll need a coach that can keep him in line and improve his ball skills. If that's not Dan Quinn, then it sure as hell isn't Matt Burke.
