Gase stopped appearing on his own Coach's Show

Every Sunday in S. Florida at 11am is the Coach Adam Gase Show. He didn't appear last week and he blew it off again today. The co-host for the show is Ex-Dolphin Kim Bokamper. I wonder how he feels about Gase sending Coach Darren Rizzi to take his place. I feel that if we were coming off a win he would be there and I think he should face the music when he loses. This just feels a little bit gutless.
I think we are learning the wrong things about Gase. He is definitely making bad decisions and this is one of them unless he is afraid he cannot control his temper on this show which is a possibility. I really thought he could be the next Shula, but the current lack of decipline on this team, continuing to play Cutler and cutting Ajayi has faced him with some tough questions he needs to face up in the mirror or this time next year he could be out of a job.

Two things...

1) If its a paid gig (which I know it is) it's BS for him to bail on it. Show up when times are good and show up when times are bad. You made a commitment to do the show and are getting paid for it, you can't quit midseason and just not show up. If he didn't want to do the show he shouldn't have agreed to it and took the $$$ for it.

2) To me this show's Gase's young age and immaturity. Lots of coaches have rough years and they fulfill their off the field obligations. Don't run to your bedroom and hide. It's a lack of professionalism and immaturity.

I just reported what happened and said it feels a little gutless. I may have no life but I watch the show and have been watching for years. I watched Shula on the show and as best as I can recall win, lose or draw he showed up. Same with even Saban, who as we all know doesn't love answering questions about a loss, did the show. I still think Gase is a good Coach but it's mostly based on last season. I'm super angry about the way we dumped Ajayi but as CK said in his twitter, both Ajayi and the Dolphins are better off. I have seen why Ajayi is better off and maybe Gase can go much deeper in the playbook without Ajayi, who apparently screwed up assignments over and over. I think a different Coach could have made it work with Ajayi.I think Gase should have figured out a way to get what he needed out of Ajayi. No football player on the Dolphins team fought harder on game day than Ajayi. That's a guy you're thankful to have on your team. If Gase reinserts Cutler into a Dolphin offense then he's just an ***hole. Anyone with eyes can see that Cutler is absolute poison to this teams moral, plus he's totally washed up.

Lemme start by saying yes, I am a Gase fan. I think he is a good coach that is going to become a very good coach.

But, he's young, and maybe for the first time he's facing a new kind of adversity. I'm not talking about losing. He can probably handle that. But he bet on Cutler, and it hasn't worked. He preached accountability, and the OL coaching fiasco exploded in his face. He tried to keep the offensive linemen out of the line of fire to protect them after that fiasco, and they just played horribly. He tried to send a message to the team by getting rid of one of our best players, and that backfired and morale plummeted. He's doing what seem like good smart things. He's actively making what might in other situations be good moves. But none are working, and they're compounding on one another.

He tried to protect his players with how he handled the OL, but he lost other parts of the team. He tried to show his strong leadership with the Ajayi move and may have lost most of the locker room. Injuries have hurt us, but what Gase is doing has backfired. Now he has a media problem. He can't talk about the OL because it will cause a swarm of dysfunction articles and focus the fans on how his staff is the problem ... including his father-in-law and the Anthony trade. But, he can't fix the OL either, and he's supposed to be an offensive guru, so the blame is squarely on his shoulders. All of our QB's are legitimately scared of getting hit ... and it's happening a lot. We have no meat and potatoes back. Our current best offensive player, Landry, is an enigma, great emotional leader and phenomenal catcher and runner, but he's slow, not particularly big, and doesn't study the playbook enough ... and will be demanding $15M+ per year that we cannot pay. None of this gets resolved until the offseason, and things are hemorrhaging fast.

Skipping his coaching show may win him small plaudits from the locker room, who would find it ironic that he kept his show and crowed about how good he is on TV while they're enduring this because of him. But, it's not drawing the fans away from their concerns. Ultimately, a coach is judged on winning. He needs to get past all of that and find a way to win. If the first 5 things you try don't work, keep trying until you find the one that does.

There have been other coaches that weren't instantly great. He may have some learning to do. And while I wholly disagreed with his Ajayi decision, and do hold Gase responsible for the coaching fiasco and the poor performing OL, I still have faith that Gase can get it done. Let's see how he weathers this storm.

I never wanted Gase at all. Philbin's style of football (finesse offense with an ineffective defense) ruined this team, and it was beyond stupid for those in charge (Ross and Tannenbaum) to hire someone who prefers the same style of football as Philbin!

I didn’t want him either. I thought Gase was nothing more than Philbin 2.0 when he was hired. Tannenbaum is the problem too. They both need to be fired.
