I take no pleasure in saying that I have been saying the same thing for awhile.

Parker%20intercept

Last week was a strange one for DeVante Parker and by strange I mean bad.
First, offensive coordinator Clyde Christensen talked about the Miami Dolphins wide receiver in terms of lacking “the edge that he had coming out of training camp.” Coach Adam Gase followed that up by explaining that sometimes young receivers take a while for everything to come together for them and he’s seen a similar situation when he coached Demaryius Thomas in Denver because it took Thomas a couple of years to get it.
Except Gase said the same exact thing about Parker one year ago. And now it’s a year later. And it’s Parker’s third NFL season. And we’re still waiting.

Ehh that first int regardless of the route or the trip the ball was thrown behind him.

Cutler has to lead him there out in front he threw it behind him thus it was picked

It’s not like cutler doesnt get to see Parker into his break there

And Moore missed dvp on what would have been an easy out route red zone td had he just threw the damn ball catchable

As of now, no doubt we need to prioritize resigning Landry. Parker hasn't shown he can consistently stay healthy and play well.

this offense depended on a true #1, and it just hasn't had that from Parker. I wouldn't mind them replacing Parker with someone else. Landry is a must re-sign

Gase is right that some receivers take longer than others to put it altogether. Jordy Nelson springs to mind as someone that didn’t breakout until his fourth season. Now admittedly he had Greg Jennings, Donald Driver and James Jones to contend with
in his first three seasons so that did limit some opportunities but they did try to expand Nelson’s role each season, and in his breakout fourth season those same players were still on the roster. So there’s a guy that took a while to put everything together and I’m sure there are other examples as well.

So perhaps Parker will breakout next year?!

Sooner or later the kid has to put it all together because we’ve been saying the past two seasons that this could be his breakout year and it’s yet to happen. I’d like to see him breakout next year (or even late this year) to force our hand, but currently I’d say we are more likely to re-sign Landry (unless he wants Julio money instead of Baldwin money) and retain Stills as our number #2, and then potentially trade Parker (eg like the Bills did with Watkins) and draft someone else on day two in 2018.

I love Parker's talent, you see it when he flashes and it's great. However, I'm not sure how anyone can be sold on the fact that we can rely on this kid from a physical or mental standpoint. I do think we have to somehow re-sign Landry.

I'm not ready to throw in the towel on Parker just yet, but he needs to put it all together and soon.

good point but remember he is playing on a very ****ed up offense right now with all kinds of issues. It's hard for anybody to show their goods with this offensive output and turnover.

In a normal situation, I would say to bench the guy to send a message like what Gase did to Ajayi last year. But this isn't a normal situation and I don't think it would mean anything to Parker. He doesn't seem to have a competitive bone in his body and has shown nothing over the first couple years of his career that he has what it takes to be a true #1 receiver. I would rather see Stills get more looks than Parker. I was skeptical on the pick when it was made due to his injury history but he has even "out-performed" the doubts and is teetering on the edge of being a bust at this point. Another wasted first round pick from the looks of it. Unless he can show me something in the next six weeks that we haven't seen in the first ten, I am not holding my breath that he will ever "get it".
