A bad week for one Dolphins receiver could help make another player a lot richer

I'm going to take a different opinion here: the play of Kenny Stills is actually what might have the most impact on Landry's contract situation, and that is probably not good for Jarvis Landry's future in Miami.

Although they are definitely two different players, Stills has proved to be far and away our best offensive weapon this season. He's improved his game tremendously and it shows up both on the game film and in the stat sheet.

I think that's definitely going to weigh on Landry's contract situation here.

Agreed, Stills has been a play maker for us in the past two seasons. Last year he had 9 TDs and 726 yards on 42 receptions. This year he's got 40 receptions, 588 yards and 5 TDs with some fairly inconsistent and shoddy quarterback play. If we get better quarterback play next season I don't see why Stills couldn't become a thousand yard receiver and perhaps he could grab 10 TDs if utilised in the right way. Drew Brees nearly made the guy a thousand yard receiver in his last year with the Saints and in some ways I was surprised to see them let him go.

There's been a definite improvement in Stills' play this season, IMO. He's doing a better job of carrying his routes and getting open and he's doing a better job of attacking the football in traffic.

But here's what's messed up: We've left a lot of plays for him on the table because our quarterbacks have been throwing the football into the dirt while he's running wide open with grass in front of him.

Yep, depends on which QB is throwing to him.

With Cutler Stills is almost invisible. With Moore Stills looks fantastic.

We really cant evaluate any of our WRs this year with Cutler's extended playing time.

He's been better with Moore in the game for sure, but he's still been pretty decent with Cutler. More than anything, I think it's just more glaring with Cutler that Jay's arm is shot, because he's straight up missed Stills multiple times when #10 was so open it was painful to watch.

Landry is well worth 12 million. Best we have on our WR core. New England been using slot WR for years and they had no problem winning Super Bowls.
Ok I heard you the first time......lol
I still highly doubt he gets 12 mill or more from us. He might be the best WR on our team but if we keep running the offense thru him then our offense will continue to never score enough points

Ozzy rules!!

Very true. Be nice to have a threat and Parker ain't that guy.

TWELVE million ... That ship sailed at least a year ago. Landry wants $15M per season these days. Price keeps going up. I don't see him back. Unless the entire NFL thinks he isn't worth $12M, which is unlikely, this is Landrys final season as a Dolphin.

He wants to get obscenely rich, and who can blame him? He will get his market value. We had our chance to sign him, we just don't value him as much as some other teams probably do.
Sure hope your wrong.

Lol @ the people criticizing Parker for not having a breakout year this year. He looked Great in camp and preseason when there was a competent QB throwing him the ball and then come week 1 an awful, awful qb has been throwing him the ball and people wonder why he hasn't broke out?

It wouldn't surprise me to see him have the most yards on the team by years end.

As far as Still goes, it hasn't just been Cutler missing him with poor throws all season. Other than a throw in the SD game, Cutler simply wasn't even looking his way. He (and/or maybe Gase) was so determined to force the ball to Parker that he tried to throw it to him regardless of separation, thinking he would be able to beat the defender for the ball. Through Parker has the potential, his consistency in doing this is poor, and it seemed almost as if Cutler were being baited into throwing it to Parker early in the season since he had made his intentions clear in public during camp about it. Moore and Tannehill found it a whole lot more efficient to try and throw it to an actually open receiver in Stills than forcing it to Parker an inordinate number of times. In recent weeks Cutler has been more balanced in his distribution, just not effective delivering it.

Ted Ginn's first three seasons: 128 catches for 1664 yards. DeVante Parker has 116 catches for 1642 yards....if he stays healthy the rest of the year he is on pace to finish his third season with 145 catches for 2010 yards. That's a little too similar for me.
