How much time are you willing to give Adam Gase as HC?

How many more years should Gase get to turn things around?

My only problem with Gase is he never calls out Cutler, I guess that's OK from a team point of view but a little honesty wouldn't kill him, we're not stupid.

The only thing I have to add to all that has been said is why is everyone so impressed with year 1? The Dolphins beat 1 team with a winning record the entire year and they subsequently destroyed them in the wildcard round. Gase's record against winning teams is awful, and the games they do win are always heart attack games. He isn't the answer at coach, or offensive coordinator.

Miami had a winning record last year ONLY because they won some close games against below-average opponents that they would normally lose; the ball just happened to bounce their way a few times. Miami's offensive and defensive schemes under Philbin, Lazor, and Coyle were pathetic and ineffective. They were a weak team and consistently dominated by tough, physical teams... all thanks to Philbin for wanting to build a "finesse" team. Now, Gase is basically continuing Philbin's style of football on both offense and defense. The only difference is that Gase is using a few more downfield passes and runs. Unfortunately, Gase and the moronic Front Office personnel decided that using most of Philbin's finesse o-linemen was the way to go. Any smart Coach would have seen that the players AND the blocking schemes of Philbin's o-line were garbage and needed to be replaced. IMO, any Coach who thinks that 3 yard passes on 3rd and long are going to be effective is a complete idiot. As soon as the season is over I'd fire the entire coaching staff and the entire Front Office including the VP Tannenbaum.

Too funny...let's blame the coach for this teams lack of talent. The oline is still horrible even Ajayi couldn't find decent holes to run thru. What about the great pass protection? No wonder Thill is on the IR and Cutler is playing with broken ribs. Jay is too slow in decision making and getting rid of the ball, so some of that is on him. They need to draft a RB now that Ajayi is gone, need some depth at QB and more depth on the offensive line, preferably a starter. On defense, need some stud linebackers first and foremost, tired of watching these imposters get run over every Sunday. The secondary can't cover worth a crap and the defensive line is getting old, needs some new blood in there.

He'd get another year minimum if it was up to me. But if poor decisions continue to be made and players aren't buying in or feel alienated, realistically it could be sooner. Harbaugh lost the 9ers like it was cool.

If you want to get uber realistic, I think he's totally ****ed with Tannenbaum picking personnel and drawing up contracts so no amount of time makes a bit of difference as long as the current FO is in place.

To take it a step further, I think we've seen enough of Ross to know that he isn't capable of making good football decisions and is leaning on the wrong knuckleheads to make them for him, so this team will probably be mediocre to bad until he dies or sells.

Happy Thanksgiving

:wtf

It's a great question. Adam Gase overachieved in his first season. With a magnitude of injuries and a 1-4 start the team found ways to win and made the playoffs. This was a team that should have gone 6-10 instead of 10-6.

In a way, that set expectations too high this year. Gase was looked at by many fans as the savior of the organization. If he could win with such a flawed team, what would happen when the Dolphins had talent? In a way that's still the question.

Fix the offensive line next year and let's see what happens. Obviously, I hope Gase is here for the long-haul. This has been a tough season and one that has raised a lot of doubts. Next year, this question becomes more relevant IMO. Tannehill will be back and Gase will have another chance to put his stamp on the team.

He took this squad to the playoffs his first year, when’s the last time we did that. Look at the teams who lost their starting QB’s and how they are doing. As far as Ajayi, good move, he is building a culture of players who dont care who gets the ball that just want to win. His system is pass catching backs who can block. It takes time, drafting and culture to win. You give this man 5 years period. If he can make it to the playoffs in consecutive seasons, keep him longer. He gets a pass this year with all this team has endured.
Tony sparano did it too

SOMETHING BIG has to change. If that's not firing Gase, then Tbum needs to go. If we stay the course for another year, then next season will eclipse the mess we had with Cam Cameron. How much bigger does this dumpster fire have to get?

Elway mismanaged the QB situation in Denver after Manning left, and made the stupid decision to hire Vance Joseph; but I do admire the fact that he doesn't let problems fester out of control. He canned John Fox because just going to Super Bowls wasn't good enough, and he will assuredly can Joseph after this season barring a long winning streak to close the year. Meanwhile, Ross gives underperforming coaches way too much rope to hang themselves. He even gives them raises when they should be getting pink slips! Sparano was given an extension after 2010 after he found out Ross was recruiting Harbaugh. Philbin got a one-year extension after 2014 because Ross was apparently satisfied with 7-9, 8-8, and 8-8.

He should get 2 more yr but I already know what going happen. Gase is going be replace in 2 yr. He will lose players after 2yr. Adam need change his way off thinking to me. That cutler bs this yr was sad....

3 more years min. He more than earned that for what he did with a crap roster last year. This year chicken **** tastes like chicken **** and even worse, we have the worst starting qb in the nfl.

Our players are not good enough, I predicted a losing record before the season started.

Would sack the front office (from tannenbaum to the lowest scouting intern) right now though

I agree, 3 more years to Gase, 0 to the front office.

Oh, I see so because they only beat 1 team with a winning record that should take away from their accomplishment? Moreover, Any Dolphins team under previous coaches would have accomplished a similar feat?

Attack the post and not the poster!

Sure poster whatever you say!

1 year. After last year I was very hopefull and at this point this year he is making me doubtful. If RT is healthy and the team is struggling like this next year and that tells me Gase believes he is bigger than the game and he needs to go. Sure he makes a QB rating look pretty good but its a team sport just about the QB.
