How the Dolphins offense has improved after Ajayi trade in one chart

I quite agree. Plus it ignores what he did last year when he was used properly. Ajayi is a three down back and they used him barely in the passing game and he was met in the backfield more than almost every back in the NFL. Anyone that thinks Drake or Williams or even their combo is better than Ajayi is wearing blinders.
the biggest mistake we made this year was deciding that Cutler was worth spending money on. QB rating wise he has been ok but esp early on he showed he does not know how to use his backs or his short passing attack to set up the longer stuff. He has piss poor touch.

Last year, once his behavior improved, his performance was up and down and we kept him. This year is his behavior had regressed and his performance was down and getting worse. We traded him and now the team statistics show we have as a team, improved our running game. By the way, we traded him for a 4th round draft selection, but we got him for only a 5th round draft selection. Final result - we got all that he was willing to give us and then we traded him for more than we gave for him. I don't have a problem with that.

Jay Ajayi is averaging 11.2 yds/carry since joining Philadelphia.

There's a good chance he gets a Super Bowl ring this season.

Wasn't he a soccer player? Kind of says it all as far as understanding the nuances of football.

He does the same with the big 3 wide receivers
if not for the injury to Parker, Carroo played 10 offensive snaps
in the 6 games he wasn't filling in for Parker.

It's amazing the lack of development of
wide receivers beyond the big 3...Only If/when we lose Landry
our front office and coach will become proactive after the fact

What are you proposing as being "proactive"? Some would say drafting Carroo, Jakeem Grant, and Isaiah Ford when we already had three solid starters was "proactive" (or something more negative).

Drafting them without utilizing them is not what I call proactive

who can we kick on defense to get them to play better? thanks for the info though john. Just hard to see anything positive about this team.
I would move Alonso from the outside back to MLB and put Anthony on the outside to see how he does. Put Kiko back to where he was at least adequate.

I cannot count the number of times I have watched Ajayi completely fail his protection assignment. He is definitely, absolutely not a three down back!!! My interpretation of the comment by Coach Gase is that he had no desire to learn the protections or the correct flow of the play. He seems to go rogue on his assignments. Ajayi is a very good power runner whom can succeed with the correct teammates surrounding him. The problem is that a disciplined defense can negate him by completely selling out. Drake and Williams are balanced players that can be used in any situation. Basically, there are no keys for the defense. Drake has been dominant with his protection assignments. He has been blasting the rushing LBs. Drake is the better protector.

Spot on. Very well said.

2nd in passing offense is shocking to me

Yeah.....well the Eagles have scored 44 points per game, are averaging over 200 yards rushing, and Ajayi is getting 11 yards/carry since he was traded to the Eagles.

400k rb for a 4th round. He should have been coached up.
