Dolphins DL William Hayes (back) could be shut down for the season.

This would be a serious downgrade for Miami with Hayes playing 43 percent of snaps in a rotational role. Hayes has top-five PFF run stopping grades. There should be more clarity on his status next week.

Ugh. This is always a risk with older players like Hayes. Even if he is shut down for the year, he was a great addition. Low salary, very high performance, made impact plays. I surely hope he returns this season, but if not, he's earned a spot on next year's roster for sure. He hasn't even had any Channing Crowder-like comments this season.

The downside is that we don't have a rotational player for the left side. Andre Branch could play there, but he's going to get most of his snaps at RDE, and even if you increase Charles Harris' snaps at RDE, we need another base LDE. I wonder if Vincent can play there? He has the quickness and explosion to be a strong side end in a base package. As a DT, I'm guessing he has the power needed as well. But, he's probably well behind the learning curve as a rookie DT, so I don't know how quickly he could become assignment-sound. Not a lot of options for us there. Fortunately, AWOLrence Timmons is a solid run defending LB behind him.

You might see Fede play way more at DE. He's most a ST's player but you'll need somebody out there as Wake is really slowing down as it is. 6 more games of this ****. It's easy to watch in a way because we know the season is pretty much over but we still have to play 6 games and then wait a long time for free agency and then the draft for us to have something to talk about. It sucks every year our season as fans comes down to rooting for NE not to win the super bowl in order to feel a little better

I'm sure Fede will get a shot, but in the past he has been more of a pass rusher, so that still leaves a void for someone as an edge setter in the run game. While that hasn't been one of Fede's strengths, let's hope he has worked on it!

When it rains it pours, can you imagine how Gase is feeling going through a season like this?

1 year deal $6 mil or less take it or leave it

And that’s assuming his back is gonna be a non factor
