Darkhorse Picks for Dolphins at #11

I’ve seen a few scenarios with Denzel Ward dropping to 11. Even though it’s not a “need”, if Ward is there I hope the Fins run to the podium or get a huge haul to trade down.

Malik Jefferson or Uchenna Nwosu maybe? I'd be okay with Guice and one of the TEs.

Perhaps Miami could trade back with a team like San Diego or Arizona that needs a quarterback, still get Guice and another pick.

If Lamar Jackson is the pick at 11 it’s the greatest smoke screen of all time.

My dark horse is Payne from Alabama.

Dark horse would be a corner. Either Ward, Hughes, Jackson.

And Gesecki would be a super dark horse but we need a TE and he killed the combine and would fit the bill with what we're looking for at the position.

Yeah my dark horse pick is Denzel Ward. First, Tannenbaum loves his corners. And second, he would be an immediate boost to the Dolphins paltry pass defense as a nickel corner. Not sold on Bobby McCain long-term in any capacity.

I was going to say the same thing. You can never have enough corners. Especially good ones from Ohio State. If your going to bolster your DEs by adding Robert Quinn you might as well consider making pass defense the strength of your defense. Worked for Denver and Seattle.

Looking like he might go top 10 which still benefits us. If Giants go QB at No.2 how is it possible for the top 6 picks to NOT be 4 QBs, Barkley and Chubb?

I know Elway wants a QB.

The Dolphins haven't taken an "off the ball" LB in the first round since Jackie Shipp, 1984. Unless I am mistaken.

If Jackson is available at our slot, I say pull the trigger. Strong arm; quick legs...and more positives galore IMHO.

I agree a potential shutdown corner helps our pass rush. I think ward's the best. We lost Sue sucking up double teams which will now go towards wake, quinn, Harris. Going to need a good game plan and blitzing linebacker play now. My favorite is wishing Barkley fell to us.

Mayfield! I can switch my view right?
Ya you better switch. Lamars frame I don't think he can last but Mayfield wouldn't be a dark horse. Guice, hurst, Hughes , Ridley etc. Not excited about Lamar in the first round.

Gase might be able to work on his mechanics. I'd go another way, but who knows. He certainly has some real intriguing offensive gifts.
