Tannehill seems to be the guy who will take us over the hump. I hope we can keep the core group which would mean resigning Long, Bush, Smith, Fasano, Starks and Hartline and add a draft class like this

Rd 1 Wr (Keenan Allen CAL)
Rd 2 Wr (Tavon Austin WVU)
Rd 2 S (Kenny Vacarro Texas)
Rd 3 Cb (Terry Hawthorne Illinois)
Rd 3 Lb (Kevin Riddick North Carolina)

That's how my first 5 picks would go.

I love Tanny but keep on mind that it took Manning years before he won a superbowl so we need more pieces but we're off to a good start.

Oh yeah I think it'll be 4-5 years till were talking superbowl but i think with this core and a 2013 draft like that we'd be on the right track

I think we'll go after WR in free agency and address our secondary in the draft. It's a lot easier to plug a rookie corner in than a rookie WR unless they're special like Megatron, but i don't see any WR with those type of skills.

Yeah but he's not Peyton Manning. Why does Manning keep coming up when talking about Tannehill? Let's get to the playoffs with Tannehill first before worrying about winning the Super Bowl. I mean seriously, what does Manning taking years to win Super Bowl have to do with this thread titled "2013 and the future of this team"?

the point I'm trying to make is that having a good QB doesn't mean you're going to win the superbowl, let alone win it real fast. It can happen and I hope it does, but we need more players. That's all I'm saying.

I think the reason Peyton took so long to win a Super Bowl is because he kept choking more so than the Colts not having enough pieces for him. I just hope Miami really hits in next year's draft.

Given the number of FAs Miami has it is way too early to guess Miami's primary needs heading into the draft.

There is some good players coming up i think this draft is gonna be deep. But we still have a good chance to make some noise this year.

Keenan allen is easily the best WR coming out of the draft in my opinion and I would be thrilled to get him, However I think were going to be in a position where we will be lucky if he drops to us.

Tavon is a really questionable kind of boom or bust pick. ( I'm a WVU 11' alum) I love the kid and he is unquestionably one of the fastet kids in the nation but he is small and not really developed in any certain position. However He can certainly mature and will immediately make our return game one of the best in the league, Him and D'anthony thomas are the two most explosive players in the NCAA

I agree, Wr, DB are immediate needs. Thats why id add two recievers and a corner and a safety in the first 3 rounds.

We won't get Keenan in the draft I doubt we will be in position too nor should we expect any immediate impact from rookies. I hope we pick a WR through FA.

You think Tavon is gonna go that early? I haven't followed him in college really, but I remember his high school highlights, they were all the rage back in high school to watch lol. He was insane!

thats why i said we need to grab Mike Wallace THIS YEAR from the steelers before he becomes a FA next year and we have to get into a bidding war for his services and imo we could give steelers a 1st or a 2nd for Wallace because it will take a rookie WR 2-3 years coming out of college before he is ready to turn the cornor so imo i say grab Wallace the go after cb s lb with what we have left in the early rounds and we should be set to make some noise for the next 10 years or so.

Go after Greg Jennings in free agency.

    Draft secondary and pass rush.

Mike wallace will test FA I think but why would we trade picks fo him on his contract year unless he signs a extension right there then I don't see a point in doing it. I will take Greg,Wallace,Jennings and Cruz if he becomes a FA. Just one of them would be fine. But I agree sign a WR in FA draft DBs

the reason we sign him now is because the steelers CAN TRADE HIM right now but if they wait till next year then they cant trade him because he (mike wallace ) signed his tender and is steelers property right now and they have the right to trade him if they so choose but as i said next year Wallace can do his own choosing as to where he would want to go , so say if he likes a team a little better than miami next year he could choose them not saying he dose or not ,but if miami makes a trade this year then Wallace has no choice but to come to miami , just about like the vontae davis trade when he gave us all that look (blind deer in the headlights ) lol he would have to come here , then we could talk about a new deal we could sign him to.

The first pick needs to be a pass rusher we have only one pass rusher on the whole team and he is approaching 30 years old.

I don't want to get ahead of myself he's only played 4 games but for the first time in awhile future seems bright. Coaching staff seems to be on point and will hopefully be here for at least a decade. The 2013 draft and free agency is HUGE for us no question. Offensive weapons secondary help glaring needs. And of course we need to resign key free agents. Starks will command a big pay day along with Long and Smith

There is no way I see this team waiting until round 3 to address the CB position...too important in todays NFL.

Thats true to some degree, however, Miami has the cap space to retain its free agents so therefore its not hard to speculate that they will retain most if not all of its homegrown players.

And even with that said, there is no question a stud receiver and a stud corner have to be high on the needs list of this team.
