In the 2014 Draft, hypothetically speaking, if A. J. McCarron or Johnny Manziel were still there? Whether 1st, 2nd or 3rd round, would you risk a draft choice and take either of them?

Not even if Tannehill retires. I don't like any QB in next years class.

I am really impressed by Johnny Manziel, I think he's great.

Could be a Frank Tarkenton type of QB.

So AJ McCarron who has like 15 seconds to throw the ball at Alabama. Yeah he will be useful in Miami

    or

Johnny Manziel- In South Beach!!! I wonder what would be the over/under of Manziel arriving to practice drunk 1 month?

I think it will be about as likely that we draft Clowney as it is those two.

I hear John Beck is making great strides. Def a better option than Ryan....
Since the bills are down a qb lets trade Tanny now while we got the chance!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

SMH at people and threads about drafting about QB's already. Doesn't everyone want stability in QB and Coach for once in a decade????????????

I think he's too frail. But his talent is impressive.

    I would draft Manziel.

I like Tannehill and think he'll be a good QB in the NFL for a long time. I don't know if he'll ever be great, and if I'm honest, I don't think he ever will be. I think he's one of those guys who will be good enough to win it all if you surround him with a great team (like Joe Flacco - though they have some different attributes). The problem is that I don't trust Ireland to ever put together a great team in Miami.

I think Manziel has the feet, instincts, and throwing ability (specifically his ball placement) to be a great QB in the NFL. He's also a natural leader. Despite all of his issues, you see the way people respond to him. No way that Texas A&M team should have ever been competitive with Alabama. I think Manziel should be the #1 pick in the draft (were it held today), but I'm obviously a lot higher on him than most. The ability to seamlessly make plays outside and inside the system is what sets him apart to me. Watching the Arkansas game, there was one drive in particular, where he released the ball within (about) 1.5 seconds on three or four straight plays. He looks to make the correct play. If the D takes away his options within the design of the play, that's where you see him improvise, and he does that as well as any QB I've seen play college football.

So it's not that I think Tannehill will be any less than a good NFL QB and that we should be desperate for a QB; it's that I worry about this FO giving Tannehill the team he'll need to excel, and I'm really high on Manziel.

I'm not interested in McCarron, but I think he could become a pretty solid NFL QB - lower ceiling than Tannehill.

Of course, barring a complete flop by Tannehill this season - which I don't expect - there is no way Miami even considers this. T

McCarron is ok, but he screams game manager in the pros. Johnny Womanziel? no thanks.

SMDH........ The Devlin groupie never ceases to amaze me. Only QB I'd pick up in the next draft is a later round pick like in the 4th round maybe Blake Bell out of Oklahoma to backup Tannehill.

First I agree with you BUT I would argue the same was said of Tom Brady and McCarron reminds me of Brady in college. I'm in no way saying McCarron will become Tom Brady.

Not even Teddy Bridgewater, Zach Mettenberger, Marcus Mariota, Brett Hundley, Tahj Boyd? There are some interesting prospects at qb and this class shouldn't be written off. I am a Tannehill fan and wouldn't draft a qb before the 4th round but some of these guys will be pretty good at the next level. I don't get the hate on Manziel either he is extremely talented and has the kind of attitude that will help him succeed at in the nfl. What has he done that's so bad that he couldn't live in south beach? Gone to a few parties? Signed autographs for money which is something totally legal and he will be able to do in about a year?

I don't want interesting. I want a franchise QB. I've been critical of Tannehill but there's no QB in the draft that to me is a clear upgrade. Solidify the OL and give Tannehill a fair chance.

i say yes... i don't think the search for the quarterback should ever stop, unless you're certain you have manning, brees, rodgers or brady

NO to McCarron and Murray is too small...he's no Drew Brees. Manziel is slippery but so was Pat White In college BUT I would take Marcus Mariota to replace Matt Moore and groom him.
