that can't be right. I counted 6 teams with a lower record than us and 8 teams with the same record. But two of those team beat us so we'd draft at least ahead of them. But it doesn't matter after next week our record will be lower

By the end of the season we will be drafting higher than that, I don't see us winning another game. What concerns me is what we do with our pick, I really think we need to trade down and pick up multiple picks more now than ever....and for god sake draft wisely. Why is Jimmy Johnson the coach that was able to master that? He built the Cowboys that way and the Dolphins.

My bad, I forgot about the SOS but like I said, half those 4-6 teams will end up with a better record than us anyway

Got to love the name of that site 'tankathon'. Just so fitting for this year in the AFC.

That practice has to end right quick and in a hurry, we can ill afford this type of behavior anymore.

We know that’s not happening. And I’m sure you’ll get the “QB is the least of Miami’s problems” comments.

might not be the least but it's not even close to be the worst problem either once Tannehill is back next year. DE is a big need as we still have no pass rush. TE and RB are needs and the whole O-line sucks too and if Landry walks that's another one.

Well we play one team that's ahead of us - the Donkeys. Hopefully VJ will be motivated to beat his former employer.

Today was by far our best chance to get a win.

I posted a thread about this last week. These other 3-5 win teams will continue to play each other and the 49ers,Colts, and Browns, but the Dolphins only vulnerable opponent is the Broncos, and so far this year when we go up against top ten defenses, we get shutout.

Too bad Andrew Luck couldn't make it back, we might have ended up with the 3rd pick.

Even if Tannehill comes back 100%, wouldn’t mind drafting a QB in the first round. A great QB hides a lot of problems on your team.

Miamis putting itself in the Lamar Jackson market if you want a qb top pick.

Top 12ish. Although reading the tea leaves I don’t currently see a qb top pick in play barring a top 5 finish

You aren’t currently in the Rosen market folks...you probably have to lose out to sniff that

I’m feeling a top 8 pick coming more and more every day

If darnold goes back to school and I think he should expect Jackson to get pushed up once he tests.

    We could easily lose out

We just lost a battle of bad qbs we could lose more of them

Denver and buffalo games come to mind

To my eye everything at best says 6 and 10

Yeah, I'd be kind of surprised if we went QB first round. Anytime after that makes sense though. Of course, that would be the proactive move, which is inherently un-Dolphins.

Do we go all in on darnold or Rosen? Trade it all for the young qb? With the success of Goff and Wentz, teams willl be doing this more often

Isn't anyone watching the brilliant Carson Wentz right now?? It's all about pocket presence,awareness,escape-ability,accurate passing, hitting route runners in stride, and being the inspirational leader of your whole team; including the defense and special teams, and in the case Wentz, who is already achieving demi-god status, inspiring the coaches as well.

Wentz may go on to be the greatest QB in the history of the NFL, so to compare any other young QB to Wentz would be folly, but Mayfield comes close in several categories. Yes, Mayfield is emotionally immature and short, but he is an inspirational leader who will grow up quickly when entering the NFL; and NO!! he isn't anything like Manziel in any way, shape, manner,or form.

For one thing, it sounds like he he will probably be getting married after the season.

In a couple years, with Baker, you might just have Drew Brees with wheels.

Do you see Jackson having nfl success? I’m not so sure. He seems small and non pocket passers don’t usually last. The possibility is exiting though.

7-9 is the ceiling, which would include beating the Broncos and sweeping the Bills. Most likely looking at 6-10.

I'm with ya hoops. We will probably win anywhere from 1-3 more games. Denver, buffalo twice? maybe at home and only once.

How does this offense score against the Broncos defense?? I say, it doesn't, unless our defense gives us field position in field goal range. If the Denver offense settles on a QB and gets acclimated, our chances will be slim.

We had problems matching up against Buffalo when we had decent teams, no, our best shot at winning now is to catch the Patriots on a bad day, maybe a Brady-less day.

I have no idea why anyone is discussing drafting a quarterback in the first round....only reason to do so is if it's obvious that Tannehill isn't going to come back from injury. There are way too many holes for us to consider drafting a quarterback.

I'm looking more at an Arden Key/Roquan Smith type of player.

From what I've seen, Mayfield has a pretty weak arm and runs a high school offense. What am I missing?

Because we still have an unknown commodity with Tannehill at the helm. If five seasons, he has one great half of a season and been mediocre otherwise. He will command a large extension soon. You need to have someone waiting if (my prayer) the new front office and coaching staff seems him as not the long term QB answer.

IMO, teams that win consistently have 2 things- good coaching and very good QB play.
Good coaches always field competitive teams. The Phins have talent, but are very poor scheme wise.
The Packers are a shell of themselves without Rodgers. The Saints are looking like a very good team again.
RT is a slightly above average QB, but unless you get superior coaching, he will keep you in NFL purgatory.
If the Phins are drafting near the top 5, and have the opportunity to draft one of the top QBs, they must do so.
Those opportunities don’t come along often and must be taken advantage of.
Aaron Rodgers or Ronnie Brown? Matt Ryan or Jake Long?

If we’re drafting in the top 10 my vote goes to Josh Allen of Wyoming. Big arm and big frame.

And most times they choose not to react. See back-up QB talent, see offensive line sucked since Jake Long's 4th yr in Miami, see they needed a run stopping DE, they take a pass rushless pass rusher, can't find an avg. TE, secondary still blowing assignments as usual.

    I see a pattern
