3rd down numbers for Tannehill against the Raiders

Tannehill threw 11 times on 3rd downs this past Sunday. He completed 6 of 11 passes for 71 yards and NO TURNOVERS.

Three of those completed pass went to Hartline and all those completions to Hartline went for a first down.

Tannhell also had his rushing TD on 3rd down and as a result, Tannehill was directly responsible (by run or pass) for completing 57% (4 of 7) of 3 & 7 yards or shorter situations.

Much better improvement over the Houston game where Tannehill was completed 4 of 8 passes for 39 yards and an INT with one rush for no gain on 3rd downs.

As long as we keep Tannehill in manageable 3rd down situations, expect these numbers to improve. He has a good head on his shoulders and usually gets the ball to the right guy on 3rd downs.

Knowing a lot of the offense coming in has done wonder for Real Deal Tannehill and it shows decision wise. Havn't seen him throw those horrible INTs into double or triple coverage. We just need to keep leaning on the run on offense until he fully develops.

That is the big one for me...... Sometimes u see rookies throw these passes over the middle of the field into double and triple coverage that just make no sense. He hasnt done that yet and 2 of his 3 picks so far have been tipped passes with 1 questionable throw. I really like the fact that he hasnt made to many bone headed throws and if he could stay away from the tipped passes he might keep his int numbers decently low for a rookie..... around the 13-16 mark.
